A very nice video idea and enjoyed watching it even i'm not a coffee drinker in general. I am very appreciated how you try to be so consistent about the measures but i'm not sure about the amount of coffee you pour in your glass cups because that amount is way too much. a classic cup for turkish coffee is roughly 100 ml capacity and that makes me wonder if the coffees are too watery but since they made with the same measurements, it should be ok. I need to correct something first about Kurukahveci Mehmet Efendi. The variety can be classic or standard but not Mehmet Efendi because it's the brand name :) When it comes to Turkish coffee, the brand has the same popularity as Starbucks in here and as expected, it's not the most unique quality / flavored one for sure but it can be always a perfect gift if you know a Turkish person living abroad and drinks coffee for sure :) About Olabi coffee; as a person living in Turkey, i haven't heard about the brand at all and i was thinking like "a Turkish production branded like that for Arabic markets" but it turned out the brand is very old Syrian brand which moved it's operations into Turkey after the war started so it can be considered a decent old brand. In some other comment i saw, i really want you to taste taste some teas too especially black tea varieties. Not just from Turkey though. It can be from England, Russia, Iran, Pakistan and other well known tea drinking countries. The only thing i'd request is prepare every one of them in their own original way. That means no milk if the country isn't using milk in their teas in daily life. Thanks for the video. Cheers.

Ah well being consistent was about ensuring we give every coffee a fair chance, and we did 75ml each for each coffee. Thanks for the info on Mehmet Effendi and Olabi, good to know. If you can find the Olabi I am sure you'll like it. Sure thing, tea is a very fun one to do

To me it seems like Turkish coffee is better thought of as a technique (like espresso!) than a specific style or brand of ground bean that you can buy. While there may be classic roast styles that work well (and incorporate things like cardamom, which is delicious), I don't know why you wouldn't aim for a local, freshly ground roast that fits the profile rather than something that's been sitting pre-ground in a packet on a shelf. Honestly the biggest hurdle is dialing in the grind, but that's the challenge with espresso, too.

I've been doing your arab coffee method with consistency and reached the Best results from other method, but somehow it's not as good as i want. You have any sugar guidelines per ratio or a more detailed video in order to understand the right consistency and dilution
@MiddleEats
Жыл бұрын
Sugar really depends. We have two levels in Egypt, Al Reeha (on the aroma) which is a flat dessert spoon of sugar, and Mazboota which is a heaped dessert spoon or two. To really get it right you need your coffee ground as fine as you can get it. It needs to be floury and stick between the groves in your fingerprints just like flour does. The other thing is the technique, you can cook it super slow and that longer extraction will give better flavours, but whether you go slow or fast just make sure you do not bring the coffee to a boil

If you're out of money, Najaar coffee is the second cheapest coffee per kilogram you can find anywhere in the city of Sydney. Two-thirds the price (per bag) of even the generic brands of supermarket coffee. The only one cheaper is Loumidis Greek coffee..., which has a strong aftertaste of diesel fuel. You can even see the oil slick on top. I bought a bag once when I was so poor I had to choose between buying a bag of coffee, or a bag of rice to last me until payday. By the end of the week... I got used to the benzine taste. It's not bad. More a marine-grade fuel taste, rather than a premium petrol station diesel taste. I've also tried the Al Ameed Cardamom. I found it truly foul.... but it may well have been expired. Could have been because I made the thing triple-strength, and didn't add any sugar. I bought all these from my local Persian grocery store, which also sells bootleg cigarettes. The cigarette's were pretty good. Highly recommend the place. Lebanese bread baked daily. Big bag of 10 for only $1.50. In my neighbourhood, you'll never starve.
