Was a member of the Saint Adversaries from 89-93. As an AO, it was a great fighter to work with and work on.

Have 209 traps in the A4, lost two, and flew them in Vietnam. A true blue aircraft that had no bad habits.

Call the RNZAF, they recently mothballed around 30 or 40 of their A4 Skyhawks. I think they may have some of them based in Australia as well.

I flew them in early 1961 in the Navy, and although very maneuverable and quick and easy to bring up the elevators on deck, we DID have some early nose collapse mishaps in the A4-D versions on 3rd hook landings, aka Heinemann's hotrods or Kiddie cars. My understanding is when the marines were given F4's they were unhappy and reverted back to A4s even though the Phantoms were a bit faster, they were not nearly as maneuverable. many countries used ours later for several years until recently when most were mothoballed.

Great Photos!! I remember as a kid going to NAS Mirmar with my Grandfather and talking to "Heater" and Randy " Duke " Cunningham twice and not knowing who they were (At the Time). Its sad that US citizens want to buy Czech,Polish and Chinese jets & props. When we could have private citizens purchase A-4's and OV-10s and other American made aircraft with part still in inventory here in the United States

RNZAF had less than 20 left when they disbanded their fighter fleet, that was in 2002. They did have some ex aussie A-4's based in Australia for a while.
