Hi Dave, i am a knife maker/collector for over 35 years and i must say that i share your passion for Mora! I have a lot of expensive and verry expensive knives...but the most used and love to use knives are my Mora's!!! Nothing better than carbonsteel and a scandigrind...I have around 20 Mora's and still buying new ones, especialy the companion's and the classic's are my most used in everything i do. Thanks for your nice video and kind regards from the Belgian Ardennes, Yves.

HighCarbonSteel Love hi, I'd say difinitely mora classic 2.0. A small, reliable and sweet blade to carry and use for basically everything that needs cutting. Excellent slicer with lots of "old school" looks into it. On the other side, I carry a robust as the "primary" blade as well. Don't get me wrong, classic is damn perfect, and robust do heavy tasks, so they complete each other.

Of course i’ve been using theese knives since i was i kid and it’s is a natural part of being from here. There are still som other knives made in Mora and other parts in Sweden made by other makers that are similar and even cheaper. Carbon steel that are even softer and easy to make super sharp and whith nice handles to. I got a fiew😉

Say Heah Dave, I have the Garberg, Kansbol and the Eldris on my wish list. But I use my Mora 2000 and it's one of my Fav's, and it's in my Mora Lite Trio with my Mora Hatchet and Bacho Laplander. I also neck carry my Mora 510 as a neck knife when I go with a Basic Trio like when I go with my Modde Rodent 6 that looks like my Ratmandu on steriods. It's one if my Fav. 6" blades with my G. B. Small Forest Axe or my H. B. 17" Agdor Hatchet. I also have my Mora Classic #1 which has the same blade as my Mora 510 but with a red wooden handle and Piggybacked it with my Bokor Black Vox Rold for a very lite carry that I like adding a hatchet and saw with, Very Lite. and ofcorce one of my Fav. neck knives my Mora Forest Exclusive #277 which is hand-made with a laminated blade and a hardwood handle with brass hardware, and it comes in a traditional leather sheath and it's a full sticktang. Yeah, it's a good one. Infact I'm running my Mora Trio for up-coming trips since the weather is becoming nice and mild. Yeah a nice Afternoon Delight with coffee and, Then a nice hike and some fatwood harvesting, It just doesn't get any better.,,.

Actually, I'm very pleased I was able to make another set that's proven and I could depend my life on the set incase of if something goes wrong. I'm also very pleased how it all matches up. Oh, I'm also breaking in my tight British Army Isdue Clasp Pocket Knife, It has a Marlin Spine to un-do paracord, But also opens my Pork and Beans when I fire up some Hot Dogs, I bring Mustard Packages, Luv tham'dogs with musta and onions, Yeah it has a good can opener.,,.

do you think it would be easy to remove the red coating on the handles of the classic series moras and stain them a different color? i'd like to do that but i've never done it before. could i just use sand paper to remove it?

Yes, I know several people who have done exactly what you described, including my son with his Mora Classic 2. A course sandpaper does an excellent job of removing the paint, just takes a little elbow grease, unless you have an electric sander. Hey Dave have you had a chance to hold a Garberg and or use one? I was one of the very critical folks over the price when it first came out, it I ended up pulling the lever on one from Amazon when they had them for $56. I gotta tell ya that knife is amazing, built like a tank but it cuts so well which I was worried about because of the thickness. I am turning into a Mora junkie LOL the Garberg has their 14C27N and so far after 2 months I haven't had a single issue with the edge, very good steel and heatreat. I also have to tell ya something that recently blew my mind. I ended up getting a Mora Bushcraft Black Tactical with the serrations for only $30 about half off. The sheath is way cool, its a combo nylon with plastic sheath and molly webbing, the normal black needs the same sheath. Anyways the serrations are on the right side which actually makes the knife work almost completely normal, very weird but very cool, IMHO it is excellent for those who need serrations but wants the knife to cut like normal. I think I might make a few knife vids to show people just how crazy the thing works, you can make feathers from tip to handle with no interference???? so crazy I love it!. Thanks for sharing Mora's with all of us, they make woodworking a blast.

I have only ever heard that their carbon steel is "equivalent" to 1095. Also the Force is one of the few (don't know which the others are) that are actually true Scandi. Most of the others have a microbevel.

I think a lot of people have heard a lot of different things about their carbon steel. Either way, it's an excellent steel that I enjoy very much! Actually, most of the Mora's I received did not come with a microlevel. Thank you for stopping by! -Dave

I cant believe you would do a review of Mora knives, its obvious you've never used them and its a shame you dont have a collection of them to share your thoughts on. Very disappointing Dave! All joking aside. I have had folks ask me about Mora and I always send them to your channel. Great display and explanation as always! keep up the great work my brother!

most likely its not a 1095 steel but 80CrV2 since it is a more typical steel in scandinavia, but the characteristics are almost the same as 1095

Who cares, it is a proven steel of time. It has the characteristics of.....high carbon steel, so don't care what they are actually using(anymore), as it works and works well. To those wondering, don't, just buy one or two or a dozen of them. I use to be a steel snob, Mora was one of the brands that helped see there is a place for non super steel knives for sure. I still buy expensive steel but not exclusively anymore.

I have had a very hard time confirming the 1095. I have said "1095" in videos and several people have commented that Mora does not use 1095 in most of their knives. Not sure how they know but I have been told both. Good steel, whether its 1095 or not..haha! Thank you for watching! -Dave
