I like to leave the head of the rake in the bunker and the handle just along the grass. I only do this because sand can be annoying to get if your hands so having the handle out of the sand stops that.

I absolutely hate when people leave the rake in the bunker. It's terrible for a few reasons: 1. If your ball rolls in the bunker and hits the rake or hits the sand between the bunker and lip, your ball is going to end up stuck on a hill next to the lip instead of funneling to a flat spot. At least if you hit the rake outside of the bunker, there's a good chance it will stay out of the sand in the first place. 2. The handle gets sandy. Who really wants to pick up a sandy-handled rake? 3. You often have to lean down much further to pick it up, or you have to get into the bunker (nowhere near your ball) to pick it up which means you have to rake that spot too. Just lay the rake next to the bunker, parallel to the direction of play.

QUESTION: if someone lands his ball in the fairway so close to you that neither can hit his ball without hitting the other can you mark your ball and pick up?

Why would you leave the rake “inside” the bunker?

Any reason I don't see for leaving rake in the bunker? I always leave it just outside where I came in and out. Which is a place someone else is likely to be using it....
@passiveaggressivenegotiato8087

the reason for leaving it 'in the bunker' is that it laying out-side the bunker is subject to alter someone else's bad luck by stopping their ground rolling ball from entering the bunker, and that's the last thing you want to do. Plus, in the bunker keeps the mower dude from having to stop and move it.

@@passiveaggressivenegotiato8087 - Actually, that's incorrect thinking. Leaving it inside the bunker terrible for a few reasons: 1. Bunkers have to be smoothed by a tractor device (typically called a Sand-pro) almost as often as the grass is mowed. It's no more fun for the guy on the Sand-pro to move them, and he has to pick up sandy rakes. Just lay the rake next to the bunker, parallel to the direction of play.

A little bit of greenskeeper etiquette - Please be aware of us on the course! Most often we will not hear you yell fore. I had a guy today blame the hose I was using as an excuse for why I didn't hear him yell fore (his ball was 1 foot away from hitting me in the head and I was on the tee deck adjacent to the green he was aiming at). Ignorance is not an excuse! If you hit that ball, you own that ball. Greenskeepers are not looking for a problem, we will address the issue with you in a respectful manner and ask for respect back. Without the maintenance team, there wouldn't be a course to play on.

@Mattias Benetti What’s the best thing for players to do when they see a greens keeper on the course? Should players call out, wait for greenskeepers to clear out, wait for them to acknowledge you etc?
@thepatternforms859

Seems like the player yelled and you didn’t hear him. What is the player suppose to do? He did nothing wrong in my opinion? Course staff/workers should always prioritize the guests and members first… some golfers may not even be able to yell from the T… staff should remain aware of surroundings at all times and be respectful to the members and the game play taking place.

Rule 43 C is often overlooked,it states: All players whilst in clubhouse must stand and wave madly at the Lady Captain when she walks into the room, if the Captain walks in all ham n cheese sandwich must be hidden from view, a a roar of " Go on ya good ting" must be made as loud as manageable !!

So I was trying golf for the first time with my sisters boyfriend (he’s an avid golfer) and we were trying to go quickly because there were a group of old geezers coming up behind us. We let one group play through but after that we tried to speed up. He went after his ball and I went after mine. While I was trying to golf another group of old folks this time only 2 drove up to me and they just stood there watching me. They were like 5-7 yards away. Then when I had a bad hit cause I was nervous they were total assholes and saying things like “wrong green” And “oh at least the weathers nice today” serious question, is this normal etiquette or are these guys just utter assholes I’m inclined to think they were just dicks but idk I don’t see anything in this video about not driving up to others to watch them hit their shot. Edit: We did get our money back tho we were hardly able to play through 2 holes, the amount of people they sent out after us was ridiculous we were just constantly being driven into.

It depends really. If you were taking ages, there might be a bit of grumbling but that's very rare. Also, the exclusivity of the country club can affect people's expectations too. Good etiquette is to wait and let them overtake you if they're playing a lot faster. All in all, they should not have been complaining that loudly at all, and it's pretty rare. The fact they drove up that close to make disparaging remarks may even be grounds for complaint. My advice would be to go and play early or late in the day so you aren't completely overwhelmed by more experienced scratch golfers and avoid the elite golf clubs until you get more confident in your ability.

Pretty good video but you missed a lot. My opinion on the trolly on the tee box is your WRONG. A golf bag is no more than 50 pounds and having 3 wheels to distribute the weight it can’t hurt anything. You weighing close to 200 pounds or more distributing it on 2 points you can cause more damage from your heel walking on it. Personally I fix every pitch mark in my vicinity when on the green. Pitch marks and players not lining up their putt while others are putting is my biggest etiquette CRIME.

Good point on tee box. The trolley is more of a etiquette thing and also good practice - imagine if everyone started just wheeling their trolleys across tee boxes and greens, constant touch point and possibilities of slipping/skidding.
