The tooling necessary to extrude such large aluminum profile is expensive, not to mention the necessary machining of the cut profile later but the result would be a dream case built like a tank. A freaking monolith of a computer with a very industrial feel to it.

An old friend of mine had one of these things 16-19 years ago, it's not a new idea, and has been looked into for aviation. Bearing in mind that back then (18-19) years ago we had a singular reference for temperature for a CPU and CPU cooling at all costs was the primary incentive, to then overclock (I remember having totally stable overclocks of 30-40%), and therefore cooling to the infinity (including noise and the associated insanity) was all the rage. But even then, my friend's fan stood out because it DID draw in an insane amount of cool fresh air, but it also produced a horrible noise that was also very loud, and because it also had very thin steel blades it literally needed a shield (that was included and severely impacted performance because it was a crepe design. And here we are, full circle.! . Note: I wrote this BEFORE watching the video to note my historical experiences before I watch the testing and results that might skew me writing this afterwards.
@cozmium

Lateral fans like centrifugal or tangential (as opposed to axial) almost always have better static pressure (they can force more air through difficult systems), but that often comes at the cost of flow rate (depending on size and volume of air mass and size of the fan). They almost always have a lower noise output versus axial, and the system has to be designed well to use them effectively. I think the main design consideration with this case is that as novel as the gpu mounting is, it could use a variable mechanic to allow it to press up against the chassis so it only gets external air. Not only that, but regardless of the flow-guide, a re-arrangement internally to allow all of the hot air to exhaust away from any inlet would be a vast improvement.

Great review, I liked the caveat about the cross-flow fan not necessary for everything, but that it's a cool implementation in a pricey but interesting product. One suggestion is I'd like to see more b-roll footage of noise testing because the hemi-anechoic chamber is cool and provides a more interesting backdrop than the test bench. That might also be because I watched all the videos on the HE chamber and I probably just want to see more lol.

There's just so many things done really well in this case and I understand you being fair in as many aspects as possible but you can tell a lot of passion and thought has been put into this case's design. I just had an idea, if dust can be attracted to static electricity, what if there is a tiny opening where incoming airflow carrying dust has to pass a static beam, which makes all the dust stick to it so it doesn't fly further into the case? When you remove to clean it, you detach it using a handle, which also detaches the current passing through it (it has to be a very very low voltage). Then you can clean it by washing it off and drying it, then attach the part back. Mesh filters to trap dust will inevitably slow down airflow, so something to 'stick' dust without airflow loss might be interesting, but also might be hazardous.

With regards to the pinhole light source, you could also have use a laser. If you want the collimated laser beam to diverge a little bit, place a pair of convex lens in front of the laser beam to spread it. Adjust the divergence by moving the lenses around. But then again, if your setup already works, don't fix it.

13:26 diagram is wrong, these ty[pes of fans were designed to pull air in from their sides, what happens when you close the sides is you get a little bit of air actually entering the fan, but you generate a huge amount of vortice suction aka a siphon effect. because the blades are designed in such a way to collect air with no way to eject it with out alot of pressure build up. this causes more strain on the motor hence why it's 24 volt and not 5volt or 12 volt. much the same way a forced air furnace duct fan is minimum 120volt.
