Semi- Calvinist, as he was not quite sure if he ever truly committed 🤔🙄to it. I love the respect logic and careful use of biblical text shown by both men.. Both men are patient with good talking and listening skills, humble without personal attacks. It's cool to see Christians who may disagree on some things truly try to understand the other side, in good faith, without labels and Boogeyman terms. Some disagreements seem to be purely semantic,. Or looking pass the others point of view like ships in the night without any disagreement one simply sees things going west that the other does not see going east, on the same local waterway route. It is difficult for many to....Agree to disagree , while trying to actually understand the others viewpoint, not just destroy it. ❤

It’s ashamed who can get the letters DR before their name, and people treat them as though they have the knowledge of Christ. Doctor Flowers says God is giving those who repent a new heart, but acts chapter 11:18 says the apostle said so then God has granted the gentiles repentance. Also 2 Timothy 2:25 says if perhaps God will grant them repentance. So it’s God who grants repentance, and it’s God who purifies the heart. That’s the grace of God. Men immediately said "Don't fall into Calvinism" l didn't even know what it meant. I've, for the most part, steered clear of Leightons teachings, but after watching the first half of this, I started to warm up to him.. Until he continually said, "Look to the serpent, and you'll be saved" over and over again. Why would you picture the serpent in the garden when he is clearly speaking of the serpent Moses raised up in the wilderness? ”And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.“ John 3:14-15 ESV

But when he repeatedly kept saying it, instead of just referencing Jesus as the One we are to look too for salvation, it became concerning.. I've been a born-again Christian long enough that my discernment alarm started going off when he repeatedly referred to the "serpent." For the new believer or the (Christian that does not study Gods Word) when asked what comes to mind when the name "serpent" is mentioned, Satan, not Moses staff, will most likely come to mind.

@@Ron-jw3ty brother, no content in this video should make you think of the serpent in the garden. It doesn’t matter how many times he said it, it’s always in the context of John 3:14-15. The story of Moses raising the serpent in the wilderness is an irrefutable point that Leighton makes. Everyone could look to the serpent raised in the desert for healing from the snake bite. Jesus parallels himself to the serpent raised in the wilderness and yet we have teachers saying only a few are gifted the ability to look at Jesus for salvation. To discredit Leighton for that is disingenuous.

@WoodrowKlassen7 His comments in this video are not the only reason I unsubed from his channel. I know he said he does not try to give the impression that these men and teachers that hold to a Calvinist interpretation are false teachers, but he does. Whether done intentionally or unintentionally, he spends the majority of his rime doing just that. I know for a fact that if I didn't study my Bible every day and know the word of God as well as I do that, I would come away from watching his videos viewing these men as being false teachers. 30:48 The parable of the prodigal son ( which is part of a collection of 3 parables of lost things) is not about the lost things… it is about the one who does the seeking, that is Our Merciful God. To compare the “deadness” of the son in that parable and the deadness in Ephesians 2 is incorrect in my estimation. If you want to equate them, then one could say that the son went back to his father because wanted more of his father’s things. Whatever dead means… God has to do something so that we are no longer dead. I could be wrong, but it seems Leighton is saying when we believe, THEN we are regenerated and given new hearts. That almost seems like we are rewarded with regeneration and eternal life for our belief which completely contradicts Ephesians 2:8-9. I did not know anything about Calvinism when I was saved. I grew up in church and I could have told you that I was born a Christian. I was a nominal “ Christian” who loved my sin and looked righteous to those around me. BUT GOD… He is so kind and merciful. He revealed His Son to me through His glorious gospel and I have never been the same! I once was blind but now I see! The only thing I contributed to my salvation was my sin. Corey is a theological Calvinist and so am I. What the issue we cannot fully grasp is the Bible presents salvation from both the human perspective and the Divine perspective but the fact is it has to start with God John 6:44. While I am a Calvinist, I do not believe any system including Calvinism can fully capture how God works in His Sovereignty.

No. The bible no where teaches that and any Calvinist who does exceeds what is written (1 Corinthians 4:6). It does teach that God's sovereignty is all inclusive and includes using human wills and overrule human wills when they would nullify His sovereign will. Abraham twice put Sarah at risk to be taken as another man's wife which would have destroyed the line through which Christ would come. Seen in Genesis 12 by Pharoah and Genesis 20 by Abimelech. And God told Abimelech that He kept him from sinning with Sarah Genesis 20:3-6. God's sovereign will to have Christ crucified for our salvation was fulfilled by man's evil will (Acts 2:2323 Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death;) God throughout the Bible over rules what man intends for evil to work out for good (Genesis 50:20). He obviously hates Reformed Theology. Look at Romans 1:6-7 "The called of Jesus Christ." v7 "To all that be in Rome, ➡️ Beloved of God, ➡️ Called to be Saints." Scripture says God calls and chooses. And because we believe it...we are hated. I am growing weary of hatred for believing Scriptures. Scripture itself says "It's foolishness unto the natural man." And not everyone professing Christ will be saved... Matthew 7:21-23. 📖🌷

ashermarcus, I probably won't listen to this because of Leighton. He gets very condescending and mocking when speaking about Calvinism. He has a very superior tone when explaining what he thinks we are too stupid to understand. If he behaved here, that's good, it wasn't his show, and it's good to show respect as a guest. I always recommend people don't watch him, as we need both sides to be honest and unbiased which he's not.

Here's a very interesting question concerning John 6:44: do those who are NOT drawn by the Father yet somehow come to Jesus ever remain in the faith? If so, then where in Scripture do we find these saved people who came to Christ without being drawn by the Father, and they remained faithful until they died? My own view is that it is possible for lots of people to (in some vague sense) put their trust in Jesus...for a while. But those who temporarily come to Christ and are not drawn by the Father are like the thieves (John 10) who are entering in through "some other way" than through the gate.

Absolutely. Jesus said in John 3:3 "Except a man be Born Again he cannot see the Kingdom of God." v5 or enter. Many merely profess Christ Matthew 7:21-23 but were never born again into God's Kingdom and Jesus will say "Depart from me l never knew you." John 3:5 "Born of water and the Spirit " tie that to Titus 3:5 "The washing of Regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit." And lastly to understand what the washing of Regeneration is...look at Ezekiel 36:25. God says He will wash us clean of all our filthiness...he will cleanse us of all our idols. bibleprophecy, anyone who understands Calvinism knows that we are made righteous through Christ's faithfulness, we have peace with God, it's nothing we have done Romans 5. It's absolutely nothing to do with how worthy we are. Rather, the one who thinks they can lose their salvation, is the one who has the problem with worthiness. If God wants to save you, there’s nothing you can do to stop the power of the Holy Spirit. An Arminian says that the human power can be stronger than the Holy Spirit. Jonah refused to do what God wanted him to do. And God won that battle. I think it’s a perfect description of how God interacts with humans. If God wants you to do something He will win. I don’t think we are robots, we have volitions but they can be overridden by our Creator

Heb 11.1 KJV 1. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the EVIDENCE of things not seen. Saving faith is, according to the testimony of scripture, the EVIDENCE of salvation, not a CONDITION thereof. The substance/ground of the hope of all believers is Christ Himself : "To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory" (Col 1.27). Saving faith is the application of the Person and work of Christ in the sinner, wrought by the Holy Spirit and given to all God's people.
