That's a giant loom and the art of weaving. I have a long time friend that just turned 80. She has several looms, but different than those. It is just like the little pot holders we used to make. It's just so far out of our culture, nobody recognizes it anymore. Beautiful!

They can go in the washing machine. Not sure you can knit/crochet this type of blanket

@@AleissMarieCool! It looked delicate. No, of course you can't make the same kind of blanket by knitting, I just thought knitted blankets might be sturdier and use less yarn. But really, it looks very pretty and fun and faster to make.

@@elisa6212 Less yarn would generally mean less warm. I'm not sure the name for this technique but with how loosely fitting the yarn is, I can assume it's pretty great for warmth, but can't stop wind at all. Trapped air keeps you warmer after all. As for knitting or weaving being different. That's very true. This would have less elasticity than knitting and more breathability than knitting.

@@Account_KZitem. Узелки не развязываются и стираются салфетки без проблем. Я вязала булавкой крепкой. На нее завязывала нитки примерно 50 см двойную и вязала узелки. Не нужно нить обрезать пока не закончится. Есть много мастер классов на Ютубе.
