"End" by Secondhand Serenade // Jack/Ianto (Torchwood)
((Ianto's speech is from the audioplay "The Dead Line"))
*MASSIVE SPOILERS FOR CHILDREN OF EARTH*
Just so you all know, I'm not a Torchwood fan.
I've only ever seen a handful of Torchwood episodes and I was never really interested in it. I have always, however, thought the Jack/Ianto relationship was something special.
I started watching Children of Earth because it looked like it would be great and captivating. And it really was! I loved the miniseries (well, not really the last episode).
Ianto's death broke my heart into tiny pieces and I'm still recovering from it (and remember, I don't even watch the show!). This is my tribute to him and to his relationship with Jack.
(Here's Ianto's speech if anyone has any problems hearing it)
"I have absolutely no idea whether you can hear me, Jack. But I'll talk to you now, on the off-chance that it helps.
I've watched you in your sleep; did you know that? So many times. Just woken up beside you in the middle of the night and watched you. Watched your eyes moving behind your eyelids as you dreamed. And tried to imagine what a man like you could possibly dream about. The things you've seen; the lives you've lived; the people you've loved. I wondered if you were dreaming about me, I hoped you were dreaming about me.
Everyday, I grow a little older. But you're immortal. You've already lived a thousand lifetimes. How could you watch me grow old and die? How can I watch you live and never age a day? Even if by some miracle I survive to see my hair turned grey, or God forbid fall out, I dont kid myself that you'd still be around to see it.
Lets be honest, Jack. Im nothing more than a blip in time for you"
It's from the audioplay "The Dead Line", although I altered it a bit so it would fit. :)
