Nice additions to your collection and channel, Harrison. Another Amtrak locomotive, yes! The Great Northern pulp wood car does look like it's a Tyco, it should be marked on the underside somewhere. If not, Daniel most likely knows for sure. And you have another car to add to the US manifest. 🇺🇸 Thanks for sharing. 👍 👍 👍

EB Trains (Eric) generously sends several locomotives and cars. Very nice. Model railroaders are always so ready to help others and share with others. What a great hobby! Later, Nerf Cat shows up to do what he and most cats do so well: steal one or more scenes and knock things off of a table or shelf. Good job Nerf Cat!.

Nice things there. It's true what was said in letter in the same way having really getting into hobby full force because of the community base. The Tea kettle I had one similar but was a model power with tender. The lumber car is by Tyco I had one like it but had red body to it. I agree with the new haven locomotive scheme. I may repaint a f unit i have to that type of scheme just to have one i customized. I remember in old model railroader the proto1000 was that Amtrak type good model! I find an old box car i have same intentions newhaven paint sceme Very awesome

The Proto E unit can be fixed with Athearn parts. That loco will be the star of this lot when it’s done. Check the worm gears on the top of the trucks first. The factory lube in these basically turns to peanut butter. It will probably be easier to replace the gears than to try to clean them. I just had this issue with a P2K GP38-2.

To Eric B...welcome as a subscriber! SMT (Harrison) is a genius. You HAVE to watch some of his restoration videos! I would say that 90+% of the time, Harrison can fix whatever ails these poor locos and make them like new once again. The other 10%...well - it's good for a laugh when things go in the dumper. Just ask him about his Acela or the Chesapeake and On Fire loco....

That Amtrak diesel is one sleek piece! I always did like the Life-Like brand. Meanwhile; seeing that lumber car is a coincidence because it so happens I recently picked up the Southern Railroad version of that same car on e-Bay. What you got is almost certainly a Tyco piece and you should be able to remove the lumber section from the car. And THAT Nerf Cat!

Super. It's possible that the Great Northern pulpwood flatcar may be somewhat rare and possibly valuable. When I was young, I had a little money and wanted a Tyco train car pulpwood train. For almost a year I hit the hobby shops, department stores, thrift stores, and garage sales, and found 27 of them. All of the cars were Southern Railroad red, some with the car data printed on the side, some that just said Southern, with only one being Great Northern green. Just an observation, but I did see a Tyco pulpwood car for $172.50 online, so I am glad my desire for that type of car was satisfied when they were only $2.39 each brand new. P.S. All 27 of the cars survived me and now operate on my railroad. Hello again a little late from the Tracy Mountain Railway in Colorado. 💙 T.E.N.

Somehow this went under my radar, considering the last item that was unboxed... I had a dummy version of the Athearn NH F unit, of course I ended up modifying it to look more prototypical of the two F units that did eventually wear that paint scheme (long story short CT DOT had bought a pair of F7s repainted for commuter service between New Haven and New London), which is unfortunately out of action at the moment but still operational.

The Amtrak E8 used to be one of the desirable ones, they'd pull $100+ when the others would barely bring $40. IIRC they do suffer from the cracked gear issue. The LL teakettle is interesting, it's inspired by or copied from Aristo-Craft's die-cast engines of the early 60s. They suffer from an axle gear issue, I have yet to find one that runs. I don't think they crack, they just slip on the axle shaft due to poor engineering when it was designed. Container flat I think is Life-Like, same flat they put an auto rack on that holds six cars. The Great Northern pulpwood car is a Tyco, one of the harder to find roadnames on that.

I have a bunch of E units in Proto 2000 & haven't ran into cracked axle gears yet. Have had cracked gears on Athearn & Proto 2000 GP units. I is an easy fix since parts are available from Athearn use care when removing truck clip because this can crack also
