Very interesting to see the history. I just picked up the quartet standalone set for Martian Chess and I love where the presentation ended up. The retro inspired art style pairs perfectly with the game, and the individually packaged games are a great sell for newer players like myself. I'd love to see that continue going forward. =)

Standing on a Lego block is a walk in the park compared to stepping on a Pyramid! 😁 Very interesting video. I'm hoping to purchase Martian Chess very soon. Best wishes from the UK.

Thanks for sharing this. I remember seeing quite a few of these iterations at conventions through the years, but seeing both the history and the inspiration for the product is fascinating!

this was a really neat video, thanks for making it. The comic/game store I work at has kick started the arcade and I'm excited. I will be demoing some of the games once we get them but it's been a while so I"m going to dig my pyramids out and get started relearning the games. cheers.

It is fascinating see the history of a game maker. I and some other boardgame's lovers tried to create a boardgame, few years ago, but we give up to soon. Congratulations again!

Great look at the history of these innovative game pieces! Thank you for sharing with us. I was introduced to the Pyramids via Treehouse this summer. Though I tend to prefer meatier games, I do also appreciate quick, simple, portable games for travel, killing time, or for light company. I immediately bought a Treehouse set and have since obtained an IceDice bag as well. I missed out on the KickStart of the Arcade but am planning on buying a set when it goes retail. I feel that there is a lot of potential with the Pyramids as people are constantly inventing new and creative games. It's like I've read -- the Looney Pyramids can be viewed as a standard gaming device, much like dice or a deck of cards. The possibilities are endless.

Weren't there some hand-cut exotic hardwood sets in the early days?

+Andrew Jewell - yes, but only a tiny number of individual sets - we never made those in quantity to sell. Crystal Caste made some out of semi-precious stones as well : www.crystalcaste.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=CC&Category_Code=PY
