The world of Drakengard didn't always have dragons, monsters, and magic. Its timeline is identical to our world's until the year 856 when after a series of earthquakes, a city with tall buildings appeared on the Iberian peninsula, seemingly overnight. This "Cathedral City" brought with it dragons, evil magical flowers, and all sorts of non-human monstrosities. By the time you visit Cathedral City in DOD3 150 years later, it's so dilapidated that it's hard to tell whether this city originally looked more like Shinjuku, or the Cage, or something else entirely. Those ruins get explored a bit more in the DOD3 prequel manga Utahime 5, and, among other things, show that there are combat androids, too.

The alien invasion date was first revealed in the 2010 NieR Drama CD as a few hundred years after Replicant's Ending E, with everyone that Emil cherished now dead, he fought the aliens alone and was forced to clone himself, this was later re-explained in Automata as well as you mentioned. But this date was retconned in Automata, a bit after the prologue ends, Commander White in the Bunker sets the date of the first alien invasion in 5012. Adding to this, YoRHa were created in the 11937 as explained in your chronology on the video, it looks like they sort of mixed up the alien invasion and YoRHa creation dates.

I have my brother's Nier Automata World Guide chronology here, it says that the 14th Machine War ended on September 2, 11945. But the important part is that it says that on the year 12530 'The concept of "nobility" is born among the machine lifeforms' and I got reminded on the crowned machine we saw near the end of last chapter, which could mean Reincarnation takes place in this timeframe

Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. We know that the dragon was developed to fight an alien invasion. It's possible that in the future of Nier: Automata, their technology is so advanced that it appears as basic magic For unknown reasons, the cathedral city from the Nier world was teleported to the past, to the Drakengard 3 timeline. God, the flower, the dragon, and the elf were all developments in the future.

0:30 I'm glad you're addressing this, I wonder what was the deal with the inconsistencies with regards to the stopped earth, it didn't stop rotating or orbiting, it just became tidally locked with the sun meaning that the rate at which the earth completes an orbit around the sun is the same rate at which the earth completes one rotation making it so that one side of the earth will always face the sun while the other will always face away. This was due to the moon being damaged in the 27th century and as a result made the earth tidally locked in the Nier timelines and it's subsequent branches. I'm not to sure about Drakengard timelines though, considering how each game has shown day and night cycles for the similar locations also the only way these inconsistencies make sense that it's another timeline. The stories of Nolle probably belong in the Timeline D of Nier Replicant, that way the inconsistencies presented between her story and what we're hearing in Reincarnation makes sense. America is still in the kingdom of the knight, Andriods find her crystal and they make dragon weapons. Reincarnation therefore cannot be taking place after ending E of Automata because of it's presented inconsistencies. Noelle's story, however fits perfectly into the Nier timeline so it makes sense that rather than her and the timeline of reincarnation all being in the same timeline aka, they take place in two different timelines. Reincarnation probably takes place on a branched timeline that probably diverged from the Nier timeline before the year 3366 AD since something happened during the events of Replicant in Reincarnations timeline that prolonged humanity's existance into the year 10000AD. I just realized something, I bet the reason they're not showing the date at which the moon got bashed, making the planet tidally locked is because that's probably when the timeline diverged making one shift one way and the other shift the other way. this can explain the inconsistent tidal lock

@cabbagechannel7874 My pleasure 🙏 I just wanted to correct one thing. "The stories of Nolle probably belong in the Timeline D of Nier Replicant" What I mean is that the early part of Noelle's story seem to take place in the main Nier timeline, considering the earliest point of her story we've seen was from the year 2003. When the Nier timeline gets to the 27th century and has that moon incident, which causes the Earth to tidally lock the and the other timeline diverges ( not confirmed but heavily implied by inconsistencies presented through both stories) the Noelle we continue to follow is the one in the timeline in which the events of Replicant take place. This is what I meant that the events of the og timeline line perfectly with what we know in her story. As all the events taking place are all consistent with what we already knew for the timeline. A lot of the events of what the latest chapter showed to Hina and Yuzuki most likely take place in different timeline. I'm pretty sure when they decided to store genetic data/history/culture storage of humanity of the earth within that timeline this happened before a branch occurred to thr Nier timeline meaning the supposed Nier reincarnation timeline as well as the og have this data stored on the moon. The events in question that occurred different on the Reincarnation timeline would be, humanity surviving till the year 10K AD and aliens arriving much later. It makes sense that the divergent event would be the moon damage event in the 27th century since this event predates the events of Replicant (which is where something happened differently to the point where humanity lived much longer), along with the fact that the aliens also arrived much later (I don't know how the different of the earth's day night cycle. Continued human survival probably had an affect in the Aliens choices to invade especially considering that humanity would have developed so much technologically from the 31st century to the 110th century but that's under the assumption the Aliens gathered Intel on earth to determine when they ought to invade.)

In nier lore the kingdom of night encompasses both north and south America some of which is in the dark on that map so it's still possible that the crystal found was Noelle. otherwise it would seem really odd to specifically mention the androids finding a crystal from which they make a dragon, when Noelle's originator sister was a dragon legion, and then have it nothing to do with Noelle.

I agree that it would be I strange if Noelle’s crystal had nothing to do with the dragon. I’ll believe your map!

In 2003 WCS started it's infection, however its never addressed why the delay of it happening in Hina and Yuzu's timeline in 2016. The Red dragon incident never occurred in their world, at least not yet. In Drakengard 2 (allegedly another story line after ending A from D1) it's said that Dragons created humans in the past. So I think it would mean that the first Drakengard is earth in the far future where mankind had been resurrected and started over. It would explain the multi time loop. Caim and red dragon goes into the past dies after fighting the Brood Mother, stuff happens, mankind goes extinct, dragons get recreated by Androids, dragons recreate humans, D1 happens again. Each time Accord does tweaks here and there and observes what happens each time.

Holy dragons creating humans is implied in D2. I still wouldn't be surprised if that is the case in Nier with the main character in D2 being a human dragon hybrid created after D1. And how dragons were implied to be created to fight aliens on earth and the way it came about. But all the events in Nier from the red eye, to the Watchers and Attoners, creation of Androids like Accord, creation of Dragons to the ambiguous past of Drakengard I could still be on to something maybe with history repeating itself.

@@cabbagechannel7874 There's one thing I'd like to add to Ultima_Maramasa's lore summary, that being a potential explanation for the alternate Hina/Yuzuki branches apparently not being exposed to WCS in Tokyo until later Sometime around Drakengard 3's release, it was established that Ending A leads to an alternate Drakengard 1 titled "Drakengard 1.3" (the DoD3 Story Side novel is what leads to the original DoD1), sadly released only in Japan. I don't know if it's just never been translated or if it's just a title and there was no content, but 1.3 listed out multiple different endings of its own, one of which was titled "Shinjuku 2013" So given what we know about diverging branches in the DrakenNier universe, it seems implied to me that the Hina/Yuzuki from the branch where they joined the Hamelin Organization and fought against Legion could potentially be connected to/related to the DoD3 Ending A > DoD1.3 "Ending E" timeline

This all seems to feed in to a popular theory that the Nier Drakengard timeline loops. This was being raised as far back as the original Nier release and the more lore that is revealed adds to that theory. The key thing for all of this is Accord, she apparently resides on the night side so what part does she play in this?

The dragons in Drakengard being the same dragons we know were created in NieR isn't just a theory! There is a short novel, called "The Gone-Away" contained in Drakengard 3 collectors edition, where Michael (Zero's dragon) states that they have been fighting what he calls "insects" and "puppets" (most likely aliens and their machines) since pretty much always. At one point in the novel a stream of light transports Michael alongside many dragons in what seems another dimension (most likely Drakengard's world), this seems to coincide with the sudden appearance of Cathedral City in the world of Drakengard (which is stated to have brought dragons magic and other beasts in the world). The short story is very vague as Michael is not really a reliable narrator (he doesn't really know what he's talking about and tends to mix up dream and reality; as the true events probably happened a long time ago from his pov) but I think it's safe to assume dragons were originally created in what we know as the NieR timeline and then transported back in the Drakengard world by a mysterious light. I'm not a lore expert or anything, just a fan so I'm sorry If this isn't complete or has some errors, feel free to correct me or add to this comment!
