Paused the video to read some of the content, and on page two it's saying you're a burden if you're sick, whether your illness is preventable or not. That it's an inconvenience for everyone, and you're costing time and money, and unable to serve the Lord. This does not align with what I believe. Are we not to care for the sick and weary with a loving and compassionate heart? To be a blessing to others in service, and to receive the blessing of service and love. Learning this could make one feel afraid to be sick, and possibly look down on others who are as causing problems. Page 6. "If my neighbor's uncleanliness creates a poisonous atmosphere or conditions that menace my health, he will risk my freedom to live just as much as if he went about it with a pistol." Well, that seems extreme to me. I'm sure there is a better comparison to be made here. I'm curious if these points of view continue though out. Thank you for time and effort to show us this curriculum!

I graduated from an A.C.E. Christian school. A.C.E. is very much a student led curriculum with not much help from the teacher needed. If you like that type of units style books, Lifepac from Alpha and Omega Publications is another good one I use with my kids.

I also attended a private Christian school from 7-10th grades that used only A.C.E. curriculum and although I did not enjoy that learning style when younger, I did learn a LOT from it. Math was near impossible for me using ACE as I needed teacher led instruction to grasp the concepts. When i transitioned back into public school for 11 and 12 grades, I mastered everything I struggled with in math very easily being taught classroom style. But everything else was very easy to navigate independently when I was in 7-10th grades using this curriculum. 😊

I'm curious if it covers vaccines at all? If it does, how many pages and what type of attitude toward vaccines? We have vaccine injury in our family and it always bugs me when a curriculum only praises vaccines and gives no option for picking and choosing or opting out based on health concerns and religious concerns...

How did you lay this out in your schedule? Did you do a lesson a day? A couple lessons every week? Just curious if there is a plan.

There isn't a set plan but we just do one section per-day.

Each booklet or pace is supposed to be completed within 3 weeks. 12 paces equals a year and 6 paces is half a year. You divide the total number of pages by 14 (test on the 15th day) to know how many pages to do a day. I hope this helps😊

I just got back from the great homeschool convention and spoke to ACE. I asked why they didn’t have many samples on line. They said they didn’t like that people would copy their stuff off the internet. Also my sone used Lifepacs health last year which is very similar set up to this. But life pacs is colorful and more $$. I believe it has more extra activities in it too. I’m going to use this for my next kid in line for high school. Thanks for the flip through.

@aplacetonest

I wouldn't think so but you'd need to check you state's requirements. Even though I don't think 1st grade would need, or even be able to grasp, a curriculum this thorough, there are definitely age-appropriate things they can be learning like the importance of taking care of our bodies, the food groups, etc.

They call the books paces. There are no flip throughs of the curriculum. It is very student lead, we use it; however, my kids also do a ton of extra stuff. They love doing science projects from other science books for kids I've purchased. Art is another huge hit here.

Thank you for this flip through. You don't see much about this curriculum. We are finishing Health with my 9th grader and World Geography with my 9th and 10th grader this week. They have really enjoyed it and it worked great for us! We plan to use the 9th grade Etymology(world building/vocabulary) next year with them as a refresher before they take their ACT test.

@@celestejohansen they really did enjoy it. They liked that it was open and go and they could easily keep up with their daily assignments. We would definitely recommend the ones we used to others. I haven't tried all subjects so I'm not sure if they are any different.

We love A.C.E.! I currently have my children using all 7 subjects. I have 5 kids ages 13 down to 6 doing the Pace Books. It’s been our first year using it & my kids love it because they don’t have to wait for me to work with them. They can all get started at the same time. They have learned so much and love that they get to use a new Pace book every 3 weeks.
