I know it’s coming from a nice thought but we need to stop blurring the lines of professionalism and romanticism among the opposite sex. Just because Breeny and Stephan are single and held a decent conversation doesn’t mean they’re meant to be. It can just mean they have good chemistry as fellow KZitemrs and nothing else. Ladies, the book he’s talking about at 50:17 is called, “why men marry some women and not others”. I read it as a teenager and used it to get married. It’s brilliant, it naturally embodies the masculine (author) and the feminine (women interviewed). Update: Wow thank for all the likes. You are right. Think that childcare workers spend at least 8 hours with dozens of kids and they have to manage them without spanking/popping/hitting, whatever parents do at home. Childcare workers spend more time with a child than the actual parents and their job is actually raise them. The kids are their jobs, not their property, not their personal punching bags. Many parents have no clue of what they are doing. I worked with children abroad and parents were shocked on how me (without speaking the language) was able to make the kids sit quiet or do some task. Simply, because I didn't allow them to cross the boundary the first time they've tried, they learned that wouldnt work with me. Parents allow their kids to cross boundaries over and over because "awe their just babies. It's fine" and then lose control when they realize they've lost control.

@@Sarablueunicorn totally get what you’re saying, but for me, there’s more to child raising than just discipling them. Yes a childcare worker may be able to advise the best route to discipline & the like due to concentration of exposure, however one cannot look at child raring from an isolated perspective. Could you as a childcare worker tell me how to keep my emotions in check while bearing the load of financially supporting a family? Being financially responsible (along with my mate) for another human being’s entire existence for 18+ years? How to keep my marriage healthy so that it fosters a healthy environment to raise that child? How to nourish my body so that I am physically able to serve my children without breaking down, & also have the knowledge of feeding my children nutritious foods to keep them healthy? Very basic examples, but I find that unless you have lived the true reality of a something, the advice you give must be taken with a pinch of salt. Notice that this guy said he loves to work & doesn’t really notice the loneliness. This is relationship advice from a pragmatic, theoretical perspective without actual, human love added to the equation. Take this advice into the real world & it falls apart.

I do think it's hard for black women specifically to walk in feminine energy, I do like dressing well etc. but I notice that we often have to come with different energy to be respected in the workplace, to not be approached inappropriately etc. So it's hard to distinguish where we can freely be feminine. You have to find someone who understands these real spiritual battles who would be able to stand in the gap for you and with you. I was almost in tears hearing him say this because I get teased about it as well, that something must be wrong with me lmao. I know I cannot yoke myself to someone who does not have spiritual insight and submission to Christ. I just ended my almost two year relationship for this reason, going through all these spiritual attacks and my not being present romantically and his inability to really understand and pray with me through it all. @Breeny Lee, The main problem is everyone is looking for perfection in a mate. There is no perfect person. We need to learn to give and receive, we need to learn to negotiate around imperfection. Most people in relationships negotiate the good and the bad in their mate. Single people who are " chronically single" like Stephen have not learned to negotiate through normal people who are not perfect. I know you had a difficult relationship recently. Even if you find that person who is great today, that person may change and make you even question if you made the right choice at the begining. The vast majority of great relationship implies hard work and being able to accept that nothing is perfect. Even in agape love, 1 Cor. 13: you need to love your mate despise a lot. Of course, seek compatibility, being on the same page regarding your core value, being respect, feeling loved and being able to reciprocated that love. The rest is adaptation and a lot of forgiveness... @@theodosad.3135 very well said. It seems like that's where things have come to. Men and women need to just take a step back and focus on themselves, and do a real thorough reset of their thoughts and morals. After that, then maybe they can date, if not, then it's just becoming a losing battle!🤷🏾♀️

I think the part about men not wanting to marry bigger women has a lot to do with physical presentation, yes. I also think it ties to a woman’s psychology too. Sometimes when a woman is heavy can mean she doesn’t love herself, feels insecure, is letting herself go, etc. (SPEAKING FROM MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE) why would a man/woman want to marry a woman/man who doesn’t love or take care of themselves. I noticed I always look my best when I’m single and when I jump into a relationship, I gain so much weight (they also mentioned this in the interview). This time around I want to create the best version of myself for ME so then I can maintain that love for myself despite being in a relationship or not. I’m breaking my old habits ya’ll. Wish me luck!

Only thing i want to say is…. I have my purpose before meeting my husband so since God is not a God of confusion so He is bringing my husband whom he has created for me n our purpose will be similar or the same n will not clash cuz he made us two by two So that’s why am definitely taking my time and waiting n not even focus on marriage right now But as a woman who has found your purpose God will bring you man who is not looking to be a boss but a partner who he is going to work with in fulfilling both parties purpose and also enjoy life at the same time One thing you need to understand “ the two shall not work except they agree” Agree mentally that’s what God meant by two shall not work except they agree That person who God has for you is wired just as you are or similarly as you are Trust him and just don’t settle just cuz you wanna get married

I love this. Beautiful interview. His statements on equality and submission are 1000% correct. At least, for my life they are. I'm hyper independent. And men that cross my path like to let me continue to be that way. I am so turned off by those types. My last relationship, what he said about losing respect is absolute facts. I want to trust my partner AND I want to be the woman in the relationship. Therefore, I need to trust him to make good decisions on his life and our lives. That requires him to be a Leader. Just because I'm hyper independent doesn't mean I want to be the leader in my romantic relationships. I am a responsible and ambitious adult, so I act that way. That doesn't mean I'm like that in every aspect of my life. But for me, everything he said, especially on that topic, is absolutely right.

Breeny, Stephan, this is it. Breeny you did that with the questions…. And Stephan, per usual your transparency and directness is such a relief at this point. As a woman in healing, Stephan hit the nail on the head about women wanting equality and control in relational dynamics out of past trauma and broken trust. When I finally ran into a masculine man, he knocked the socks off my feet and I was flabbergasted, stuck, and realized how I was attracting the same type of “laid back/docile” man because I led with my masculinity. I REAALLLYYY thought I had my shit together, only to see I couldn’t have what I desired operating the same way I was… Even you guys talking about spiritual incompatibility & ‘church’ ppl finding love elsewhere, a lack of masculine men in faith and overtly masculinity in women who are of faith-- whew I don’t think there was a stone that was unturned in this interview! Somebody said this is the conversation we didn’t know we needed and I concur but will add this is a moment of healing for this divisive time…thank you Breeny for ushering in the conversation and not being afraid to “go there” with the questions grl! 🙌🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

I have one last comment/statement. I do not completely agree with Stephan's statement about why women cannot find compatible men in the church. Speaking as a once avid churchgoer, churchmen, dare I say, are the most hypocritical men I have ever met. I do not know about y'all but most of those dudes are Benedict Arnolds. They come to church appearing one way but live a totally different life outside the church, usually one that is riffed with sin and nastiness. Also, from my experience, when a churchman finally chooses to settle down, he typically marries a woman that is completely opposite to what he normally dates. He marries a woman who is meek, doesn't draw in much attention, quite ordinary, and appearance-wise, she's quite bland. However, those men marry those types of girls because they have already decided that they will have alternate relations outside the marriage to satisfy their needs. The 'good girl' is there to manage the affairs of the household and maintain the family name. If intimacy occurs, it is purely out of obligation from the husband's end but his love for her is similar to his love for his mother, obligatory and committed. Also, being a woman that is entuned with her femininity, most men from the church respond to my femininity the same way a man responds to a prostitute. They believe that a woman who is comfortable and entuned to her sensuality is someone who is promiscuous, resulting in overtly sexualizing them.

I am always skeptical about these relationship guru men who never want to speak on their current relationship status or about their past relationships. I’m not saying they need to give us every detail but I can tell he didn’t want to speak on any of his relationships and I find it odd that he hasn’t remarried or ever mentioned he was married before. Same thing Derek Jaxson did, he never showed his wife or spoke on her and come to find out, he was cheating the whole time. I think what they say is good but, I def don’t take it literal or look at them as the ultimate man.

This is a great video, I mean breeny said in the beginning that many times people have individual problems and not a relationship problem. I didn't really understand what that meant until now. I also heard a pastor say that many people have a singleness problem. He may not be married now but he was and learned something from that. He could just be a introvet and introvertrs have a hard time being or viewing a relationship with a significant other as necessary. He seems pretty happy with his singleness and that's what I need to learn how to do.

Straight dropping 💎‘s this conversation taught me a whole lot about myself and that is I got work to do on many aspects to attract what I want . He was talking straight facts and it was like a mirror held up to my face why I’m attracting the type of men I don’t like and why I’m not attracting the men I do like. Ladies perk your ears up it may be hard for many to swallow but come open and really search and check yourself and you’ll see he “called a lot of us out “ . Instead of getting defensive let us look introspective and check ourselves so we can be better so we then can attract better mates. Stephan thank you for keeping it 💯 for both the men and the women. There’s work to be done on both ends . Breeny thank you for the amazing content and the different guests that bring their own perspective whether we agree with them or not it’s still many things to be learned.

Why is he single if he is so good at relationships?
@vedafranklin7816

OK after being married for 46 years to my late husband , and this year would be 50 but we actually were married for 46… my question is this he Stephen is an excellent person to communicate with however, he’s had one failed marriage and he has not married again, … so my observation is that he sees all of the information and hears it from his friends and people that are interested in having a relationship and he hears the good and the bad and he has assess that and decided probably not to marry because he doesn’t wanna have another failed marriage or a failed relationship …. I’m just surmising here! Yet he’s a coach on relationships but doesn’t have a real relationship and he’s got such an endearing influence that people are drawn to him and he gives you the best advice… it all sounds very good, but it don’t make sense… so are people just looking for someone to tell them something that feels good and sounds good from someone that they’ve never walked out themselves? This is not personal against Stephen because I listen to him often and I think that his ideas sound good. and I had a good marriage, but there are things that I listen to him say that I wish I would’ve known that that would’ve helped me years ago. I’m just wondering why Stephen can give such good advice, but he can’t find it for himself.? that’s just my thought… and listening to him speak I think he gives great advice and it all sounds good in theory… Just wondering?

@RUSH I see the reference to healing, suggesting hurt. I don't know the original poster's thoughts but few social groups have been hurt more. I think of the stats coming from dating websites, the group being least selected and the group that dates outside their ethnicity more than any other. There are men making nasty videos about their own, so steeped in self-hatred but unaware. Mind you, if guys talk about not like Weaternised modern women, then white women don't get away with negative thoughts either but black women receive them as a group because of being women as well as being black.

I don’t believe in giving relationships advices when you are not in a successful relationship. Let’s be honest. 40 something and still not married while you say you don’t have problem finding a good woman, what’s the point then. God’s time you said? God will never allow you to do something that he did not qualify you for. Please guys let’s open our eyes. Today we allow everyone to give us advices about our lives as soon as the person looks good and speaks well. I was so excited to watch the video but I couldn’t even watch till the end…

That’s a shame you let your prejudice stop you from gaining wisdom, he spoke about why he was still single a few times throughout the video but if his reasons weren’t sufficient for you then that’s too bad. Why are you single? It’s a question people can’t really answer. Coaches give basketball players advice all the time but they do not play the game. Usually people who study relationships from the outside have a better view. But each to their own it’s not by force…

@@BreenyLee I agree with this comment. The main problem is everyone is looking for perfection in a mate. I know he wasn't perfect but trust me no one is perfect. If you want a mate please be ready to negotiate imperfections. Just my 2 cents.
