Yeah, this was the interview I've been wanting to hear because I just lived by her music for 3yrs until I prayed for a person to be in my life again, and GOD sent me someone just like her. It's crazy cause it was around 2011 I found myself an empty nester, so I took up gardening, and would put on my earphones and manicure my lawn to Keyshia Cole. I had no idea who she was, or where she came from... she was just in some music I downloaded from the internet. I was a Computer Engineering student, so I new how to get free music downloads at a time when streaming was not even a word! Most people couldn't even figure out what the Internet was at that time! Fast forward and I'm just hearing her music again, and learning about her life. All I knew was that her mother was an addict, oh yeah, I noticed a vid where they mentioned her mother had died, a few weeks ago and have been all in, since then. So, I love this particular one, even though she is enjoyable to listen to, or I love how she listens well, but now I see she has had some counseling and may not get it herself, but she did seem to learn from her sessions. Mostly, though, I now see how she makes such moving songs for young struggling to learn, aaand mature women. Hope she never lets the guys get into her head about her music being sad songs...THEY ARE NOT! THEY ARE VERY UPLIFTING, BUT SOON AS YOU GET WITH A MAN ON WHAT HE THINKS IS A LOWIER STATUS, FIRST THING THEY WANT TO DO IS HAVE A WOMAN FEEL SHE NEEDS TO STEP DOWN SOME, OR HAND AROUND UNTIL HE GETS IT TOGETHER 1ST. THAT'S HOW I HOT MESSED UP. My mom kept tellig me that I should get my education first because a man will get his, get a good position, and then all the ladies start pushing up on him...EXACTLY!!!!! LOL... I was just sitting outside the hair shop, playing BRAND NEW, for a friend and telling her I need Keyshia Cole to give me 1 evening...lol... to get into her head. I FEEL YOU DID JUST THAT, and now I see what it is! I don't feel anyone should ever have to suffer, but struggle is so wonderful... Not only does this show just how intelligent she is, and how emotionally wise & mature she's become from her struggles aaaaand those in her life, but then she is also gifted by GOD to be able express this stuff the way she does... It's AMAZING TO ME! Although I can see that she was still learning, she is gifted with some weight on her small shoulders for a reason only GOD knows. I feel like he uses her to show us how to cope the right way! I live by the theory that we, as humans, don't know what we want till around 30, we like to go hard for it in our 40's, and we don't want anyone trying to change us & our accomplishments after we reach 50. She is always going to be puzzled by people on earth because what she has was truly SENT FROM HEAVEN. I KNOW THIS NOW BECAUSE GOD HAS MY SPIRIT IN ALIGNMENT WITH HER SPIRIT AND I REALIZE THIS BECAUSE AS I WAS LISTENING TO ALL THAT I COULD FIND ABOUT HER AND HER LIFE. I RAN ACROSS THE INTERVIEW WHERE SHE FINALLY SAID THE NAME OF ONE OF HER LATER, OR LATEST ALBUMS WAS 11:11 RESET! 1111 HAS BEEN MY NUMBER SINCE 2011 when a course of events all happened that year, but 2013 I met someone that totally resembled her and her life. In 2015 I bought myself another car which was in an accident in 2011 and my new plate had the numbers 1111 on the end. I paid for them and the cost had 11 in it, and my doctors phone number, at the time ended in 1111! It has taken me until now to figure out if this was a good number or bad number for me to come to know. My friend told me it had something to do with being 1st or number 1, yet I was never settlee with that beingg that I am a pretty humble person, so when I heard what Keyshia said it meant, then it all hit me. GOD brought her music to me when I was separated after a 25 yr marriage, and it got me thru all my days. I was in a huge 5 bedroom home alone and was very content with whatever, so I feel a connection to her spirit and feel I have information to help her to see her way thru life, as she has already done for me also. She has helped me to see I'm being RESET, or coming into full alignment with MY GOD again, and I may never meet her, on this earth, but I will meet her wherever we go when we return back to LOVE/GOD!!!! Thank you for the way you so eloquently handled this interview, and it was so unique to me. I have not connected with her on social media as yet, and I too am just as puzzled still by the reason GOD brought those numbers to me, but He has made it very clear that I am on the right track, and they represent something very good for me and Keyshia. God sees all, we can only pray that he brings us understanding...EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON! I see the numbers 1111 all of a sudden every time and feel is GOD preparing me for something to happen on Nov 11??? lol... TIME WILL TELL & I CAN'T WAIT FOR GOD TO REVEAL IT TRUE MEANING IN MY LIFE.

Besides the comment about Keyshia’s beauty being underrated (like I wholeheartedly agree), these people either didn’t pay attention or too patronizing and want a mere post up but I have to tell the truth to you. I started to watch this interview solely based on Keysha and the title. But when Keyshia began to elaborate on why she got upset that Neffie and Frankie cut a side deal with B.E.T AND MENTIONED HER REASONS WHY…we needed to hear that…at least I became interested in hearing her drive her point home about being upset that she came onset to alcohol etc and feeling that all the progress they built was being set back. I don’t know if it was editing or you REALLY did jump onto relationship talk, but you shouldn’t have-so soon. Her point (she was making) should have been driven home because that was interesting to know. VERY. But you turned the page so fast that the rest was hard to watch. It seemed like the questions you asked her were all because you are trying to work something out for yourself (relationship wise) rather than just letting things flow and letting Kesha tell her story about her feelings about the stunted growth of her family (too). In the INTEREST OF KEYSHIA AND HER F A N S, that important to know because her fans didn’t know that full back story but you kinda blew that with boy-crazy “girl talk” so soon. It was obvious that you were trying to put out there-for yourself, too and Keyshia Cole was “invited.”-too THAT. Proof that she obviously wanted to get some stuff off her chest about her sister/mom (too) was how she slipped right back into the subject about her mother around the 30 minutes mark! Don’t be so desperate to lowkey work something out for yourself that you want boys to know that you miss the real mark. I lightweight want to tweet and ask her to finish telling me her feelings about that back story. You should’ve captured that. She shouldn’t have had to bring it BACK around. Yes. As you can tell. I'm a Keyshia Cole fan.

Vegas Girl I totally get what you're saying, and agree with wanting to hear about the role that editing and the film industry play in creating narratives when they should be shared. But I also know that at the time, Necole was still a gossip blogger, and we all know how this goes. I would, however, love to see Necole do a follow-up interview with Keyshia on that topic and esp. with the rumors that Keyshia will be on LHHH for the 4th season.

You know what it could have been is that she didn't want to hit it home on a really touchy subject knowing they are getting their nails done and before the interview I'm sure keisha told her points to hit and the interview time, maybe keisha had to leave to get somewhere at a specific time frame.

this was a great interview, Keshia has shown a lot of growth, my words to Keshia would be don't give up hope, you're on your way. As far as others negative energy clouding your view and positivity you have to let them do them and figure it out for themselves. We can only help others so much before they have to learn to help themselves. I wish you all the best in 2017.

I feel you. I'm like that too. I can be great at things, but soon as I kinda really have to do it and get on camera, I can get awkward. But I feel like you have a very understanding, conversational, warming quality. Like you truly understand the interviewee, you ask real relevant questions and you probe in a way that's not invasive, but just extends the depth comfortably of the subjects at hand. This seemed very relaxed, and a getting to know someone on a friend level for the first time the right way. I love this. I also loved your video interview with Ciara on your site back in the day, I think it was back on Necolebitchie. I wish more people interviewed this way. But we do have you, and the many subjects you cover on your site. I truly got to know and understand Keyshia. I Am Necole
