Interesting video. I have the Svbony 102/714 mm ED refractor and I am very pleased with it. Excellent price/performance ratio. It also has a very nice focuser.

I’m a beginning astrophotographer and I am thinking about buying this scope. I am using a DLSR myself, but I can not find an easy guide on how to connect the camera to the telescope. Could you help me out?

If you're going to use a DSLR camera, make sure you purchase a M48 Canon T ring adapter. Then you can simply just screw the adapter onto the telescope and connect your camera just like a lens. You may have to make calculations for backfocus depending on your camera

@@ScottCastrophotography do I need both a T-ring and a T-mount adapter? And what do you mean with doing calculations, I have zero experience with backfocus. Isn’t it simply just focusing your object?

Love that you are expanding from the Seestar! I have No hate for for the s50, but its pretty rad that you wanna get more hands on with a rig.

I have the SV503 80ED and it's great! Especially when imaging in monochrome. Since it's not a APO you may not want to do detail work using a color camera, though I had decent results using a DSLR before I bought a dedicated astronomy camera. Excellent value for the money. As always, for imaging put 3x or 4x the money into your mount than you put into your telescope.

Great video! Your explanation of the processing is incredibly clear and insightful. I appreciate how you've shed light on the accessibility of astrophotography, especially highlighting the potential of the SV305 70ED telescope. It's inspiring to see how quality doesn't always have to come with a hefty price tag. Keep up the excellent work!

The SvBony sv305 70ed is a fine optical tube! And, it is inexpensive. Every one should buy one.

Wonderful video, Scott. I'm using a SeeStar and want to do post processing to my images for more detail. I own Photoshop CS6, and understand there are some astro plugins available. Or, should I just download dedicated astro software like $$ Pixinsight or free Siril? Your thoughts please.... Michael Edmonds

Pixinsight definitely has some cool extra features, but I'd definitely work on learning Siril first if you haven't done processing before. It's definitely a gateway to learning pixinsight

Hey Scott....I'm trying to learn Siril (for SeeStar). Pixinsight lists some "fantasy" PC requirements: 16 core i9, 32GB ram, 27" 4k monitor....as minimum. Is that for real, or can you run Pixinsight on a standard laptop? I have a 13th gen i7, 16GB ram, and 2K 14" screen. Thanks, Michael
