I (the wife) decided we would leave the church that both my husband and I grew up in. Sometimes I feel weird for making this decision, but I my husband knows nothing about progressive Christianity or CRT. My husband asked me to speak to one of our Pastors first and when I came back from that meeting it was obvious we couldn't stay there. I think this is one situation where God is hopefully okay with me as the wife making this big decision. I am now very careful and won't choose a new church until I know they teach sound doctrine. If nothing else I cannot allow my child to be in a sunday school that I can't trust.

This is exactly what I am going through with my church. Thank you both for speaking with clarity, and Alisa for asking the exactly right questions. A group from my church that I am in is reading Erwin Lutz’ book “We Will Not Be Silenced,” and I started Voddie Baucham’s book “Fault Lines: the social justice movement and Evangelicalism’s Looming catastrophe.” There are untold scriptures that shine truth on the lies of critical theory and social justice. I will share just one: “You shall not circulate a false report. Do not put your hand with the wicked to be an unrighteousness witness. You shall not follow a crowd to do evil; nor shall you testify in a dispute so as to turn aside after many to pervert justice. You shall not show partiality to a poor man in his dispute.” Exodus 23:1-3

Excellent! Great questions, answers and applications. One suggestion...encouraging people to read scriptures can enable people to pick and choose. Like Alisa's example, people can think because they find a few lines of scripture and interpret them "to the best of their ability," and then justify all kinds of false ideas. I suggest that people focus on the words and parables of Christ in the Gospels - a red line version helps. Then ask themselves, "When I dwell on CRT, do I find myself moving into a state of love for my enemy, increasing in my ability to forgive or confessing and repenting my own personal sins?" -OR- "Do I find myself accusing, resenting...increasing in envy, anger and hate?" CRT will never lead toward Christ. If a "theory/idea/notion" does not form us into the love of Christ, we must discard it.

Teaching at 47 minutes hit home. Over half of our church, our family for over 25 years, has left the church. All concerns that were raised to our leaders were rebuffed, and many members were treated incredibly disrespectfully. So MANY families were told, "Well, apparently, you're the only one who feels this way," while we KNEW that MANY of us had raised the same concerns with our leaders. We desperately need prayers for true repentance and revival within our churches, across the nation and throughout our world.

In the introduction when he said that wokeism was attracting him to favoring the people he more closely aligned with in the flesh as opposed to the Faith, it immediately reminded me of Galatians 2 where Paul accused Peter publicly of doing pretty much the same thing for similar reasons. They both were Christians, both were Apostles, and both were ethnically Jewish, but Peter was gravely in error for giving discriminatory preference to a people group more like his own at the expense of misrepresenting the Gospel with his posturing, even to the point where Barnabas was being led astray by it encouraging him to behave likewise. We would do wise to be like Paul to reject wokeism publicly, and if necessary, forthrightly to the faces of the people who are entrapped by this all of course speaking the truth to them with a love for them (Ephesians 4v15). Peter proved himself to be a wise man because while he probably didn't like being called out for his sin and it probably didn't feel good in the moment (Proverbs 27v6), but he accepted Paul's reproof instead of scoffing and hating him for it (Proverbs 9v8) calling him a "beloved brother" and equating Paul's writings with Scripture (2 Peter 3v15-16) and not holding a bitter grudge. If you are a Christian and you are currently captivated by wokeism and a fellow believer comes to talk to you about it, at least consider the possibility that you might be acting like Peter was and you would be wise to listen to the true friend who is taking the time and risking the loss of the relationship with you to lovingly steer you away from this destructive ideology whose sole purpose is to sow division and reap discord. The Bible explicitly says that this sort of tool used to break people apart for no good reason is something he considers an abomination and He absolutely hates. (Proverbs 6v16-19) If the God of every good thing who is perfect love hates something, we would be wise to identify and understand those things and stay away from them and encourage others to do likewise.

Interesting. I had the sense this channel is intended to provide information to help people really think through challenging issues of our time. I've seen a bit of the videos here dealing with CRT here. If the hope is really to provide that clarifying info esp during this time where there's an abundance of confusion with ppl believing sound bites, it might be helpful to host a conversation with someone who's an actual CRT scholar. I think there are many folks who have been engaged in social justice work who maybe have shifted their perspective in some way and those stories are helpful but CRT is an actual academic area of study and it just seems unfruitful to attempt to have a substantive convo without an actual expert. But that's how these convos are happening these days. There's an opportunity to do something different here.

Thank you. These conversations are one sided. He was 'woke' but now is he 'woke' again since his views have changed? As far as I am concerned these conversations are divisive unless two Christians with opposing views can sit together and talk. Neither can be completely wrong and other completely right. CRT and social justice is the devil! 😂😂😂. Just joking of course about that last line.

People who sympathize with others need to have someone to blame for their own problems instead of taking responsibility for them themselves. Empathy is not sympathy. Empathy is helping others get out of the hole of victimhood instead of jumping down in the hole with them. That takes forgiveness. When you think someone can hurt you, that's an indication that you have faith in fear of your fellow man instead of in God. Christ said he is with you always. Trying to counter that fear with racism or blame against that enemy, white or black or green, won't work.
