Just got new much stiffer battens from Mischa Heemskerk, that are optimized for upwind foiling and much flatter at the top. Reduced mast pre-bend for more flex and flatter top when sheeting hard. Tighter outhaul. Playing with a bit more mast rotation to compensate for flatter sail. Asymmetrical rudder config of course.
I still need to improve my technique to get faster flying, and more consistent 16kn+ upwind speeds. According to the moth sailor, I still had too much twist in the sail and was too slow at first allowing an easy overtake. As for a first test of the new battens I am pretty happy, they clearly make upwind foiling easier.
