Started with Quest 2 and moved to Quest 3, and although I do enjoy playing games, I sometimes simply don't have the energy to do so. Yet, I find myself watching movies or TV programs w/ my headset pretty much everyday. Despite having a big screen in living and bed rooms, I still find myself enjoy laying down and watching on the Quest. (I use SkyBox VR to view, streaming from laptop.) So, if you are into watching movies or TV, I highly recommend the Quest 3. Thanks for the videos, as always, Matteo! Keep up the great work!

I recommend picking up some knuckle straps so you can let gp of the controller while playing and it will not fall from your hands. It’s an inexpensive upgrade but makes a big difference. The fairly basic ones offered by Meta have the benefit of not covering the battery door and also work with their charging dock, but there are much cheaper versions out there.

Regarding comfort - don't do what I did, and pick The Climb as your very first VR game, and then try to play it while standing. I already don't do great with heights, got slightly motion-sick while climbing, accidentally flexed my hands, which of course let go of the cliff face and I plummeted. When I hit the ground, my legs basically turned to water, I had to rip the headset off and nearly vomited. Second try was Walkabout Mini-Golf, which was waaaaaay easier to handle.

I totally agree with the Kiwi battery strap being way better. I originally had an official battery strap for my quest 2 that was horrible as compared to the kiwi brand at twice the cost. When I got my Quest 3 I ordered one as soon as Kiwi had them available. I have absolutely zero complaints.

I had the Oculus Rift back in 2016 (CV1 I think is what people called it) and was excited to play Adr1ft which had you floating around a space station. I played it several times, but twice I felt bad enough that I had to lay down and sleep off the effects. That was it for me and that headset. So I certainly know the effects of trying to use a joystick to move. I tried locomotion movement with Resident Evil 4 and quickly switched to the teleporting option because my head did not like that kind of movement. Thanks for the tips! I’m hoping my head eventually gets used to the locomotion style, but the teleport option seems to work well for avoiding motion sickness. If you do start feeling a little off and have been teleporting quickly, just slow down how quickly you are teleporting and your head may go back to normal.

I had to quit flight training because of motion sickness. But I just worked through VR little by little and my brain learned what to do. Had some sickness but broke through the other side and now I can roll a TIE fighter 20 times and no discomfort. So worth it and way better than having to teleport or avoid driving and flying games.

I am liking the Quest 3 a lot but there are times when I see some PlayStation VR2 stuff that has me thinking that would have been a good option too, like the lighting I see in the Metro footage on PSVR2

Back to the PSVR2 pessimism are we? Nevermind the fact that every cross platform game is gonna look, perform and feel better on the PSVR2, whether that’s through PS5 or via a PC. I feel really enthusiastic about VR in general, we have killer titles on the way across the headsets. I’m looking forward to Arkham too, though it’s a shame that’s all I’m looking forward to playing on a Quest.

@christophermorton914 my stance has never changed. Sony is not investing into the psvr2. The adapter was to sell of excess stock, end of story. Psvr2 is not profitable for them
@ilikestuff8218

first of all, you're not 100% sure about the look because while the graphics is better, PSVR2 only has fresnel lenses and have mura issues while Quest 3 has pancake lenses. second, feeling better is also debatable because again, pancake lenses, PSVR2 is also heavier and wired forcing you to use artificial turning, artificial turning not only breaks immersion, it also makes you more motion sick than just turning with your body. lastly, let's say you're right, what's the point of that when the exclusives on PSVR2 suck?
@christophermorton914

@@Gamingwithmatteo311haha reps at Sony are on record that PSVR2 was being developed for use on PC early on. Your lack of investment point makes no sense seeing as they developed and created the damn thing, as well as funded lots of games for it, including paying millions of dollars for RE8. As a Quest 3 and PS5 owner who also uses PCVR, I just find your points always so disengenuous. Quest 3 shills claim Quest is great because it can be used with PC then when PSVR2 does it, it’s to “get rid of excess stock”.
@christophermorton914

@@ilikestuff8218lol you think PSVR2’s heavier? Try wearing a Quest 3 with the 3rd party mods to make it comfortable and then the batteries to make it actually usable for longer than an hour. And I own games on both platforms because of them being released at different times or being offered for free and every single one of them plays and feels better on a PSVR2. Look at Into the Radius. And the PSVR2 exclusives suck? Lol okay mate. All we’ve got on standalone Quest 3 is Asgards Wrath 2, the commercial flop of AC Odyssey and Arkham next week. Any oculus exclusives can be used on PC with a PSVR2 now and hate to break it to ya, that’s the best of the headsets to use for Lone Echo 1 and 2 👍

I got into PCVR via standalone. There must be others who are/will be doing this also. Does anyone know if PCVR engagement has actually dropped at all since Quest, or does it just seem like that? I predict growth in PCVR as standalone noobs figure it out.

@allbecomesiron there is no one in standalone to fight it out, its meta or meta. In terms of pcvr it's been static for years. No real growth and standalone players outnumber pcvr 10-20 to 1
