Great food for thought. It can be easily verified that one has 3 brains and maybe 4. One interesting thing to observe is the difference in their rate of speed. The emotional brain is the quickest and the intellectual brain the slowest by quite a lot. Quite useful information which is little known or understood. Thank you.

I think she "missed the mark" by that explanation.... From the book "Reality of Being, Fourth Way of Gurdjieff" by Madamme de Salzmann; ch.116 Conscious struggle The second body has as its substance a finer intelligence, a sensitivity. When our attention is strongly concentrated in front of the various movements of our thinking, feeling and body this produces a substance similar to electricity. It is necessary to accumulate this material for a second body to be formed. The way is long, but the substance can be created in us by conscious effort and voluntary sufferings. There is in us naturally a permanent conflict between the psyche and the organic body. They have different natures -- one wishes, the other does not wish. There is a confrontation that we must reinforce voluntarily by our work. It is for this we undertake a task, something precise that reinforces this struggle. The body is an animal, the psyche a child. I have to make the body understand that it must obey, not command. I create a struggle between "yes" and "no" for my being. Only at this moment does the work begin. A conscious man no longer suffers -- in consciousness one is happy. By suffering is thus prepared is indispensable for transformation.
