Pat was good enough to be there for me many times, he was generous. There are always two sides to a story. My dad was old fashioned and never told me he loved me, but I knew how he was raised and his limits in expressing himself. I chose to give my father some slack, and loved him deeply and always showed him respect - he was my father and I owed him that. I hope they reconcile.

His best comes from his add libbing and freestyle entertainment (like carrying a radio interview). Nobody could follow him on a roast. He closed them. He was more than a name performer, even though that's what he was. You can learn all kinds of things, similar to a George Carlin, but of course not quite.

@@jamesbanks1845 Really? He quit standup comedy in 1994? My point was that he was a very angry and bitter man and was never content about anything. You can see and hear it in every interview he ever did and in every standup comedy routine so what more do you need to prove that he was never content, but you want to tell us how "content" he was? Okay, so if you want to believe that then go ahead and believe it. It made him feel good to tell us how it was "Ova" for other comedians and singers including himself. It is nice to know that he felt good about something in his life.

@@jamesbanks1845 After hearing how he talked to his own mother and children I really can't stand the guy. I saw him back in the 1980's his comedy act out here on Long Island and thought he was funny but never knew what he was really like in terms of how he treated his children or his mother which I find despicable. At 12:44 he tells us what a mother is, how about him telling us what a son is? It figures that he and Jerry Lewis got along well considering how they both treated their families from their first wives. It is sad and pathetic how he looked at his life in terms of what type of character he had based on how much fame and success he had instead of looking at other things that some of us feel are more important in life.

He thought he was funnier than he actually was in reality. Alienated a lot of fellow performers and paid for it. Despite what he professes he was jealous of comics like Don Rickles because of their continued success well into old age.

Жыл бұрын
@@chrisnalina1755 I think he was a incredibly jealous and insecure man. Seems like he had “issues” with his parents, his siblings, his wives and children, and other performers. That’s a tremendous amount of conflict in ones life to navigate successfully. I believe it manifested itself in that in your face persona which was difficult to see who the real Pat Cooper actually was.

@@dannyryan9246 Pat told his son not to call him when his son's grandmother ( meaning Pat's mother) dies, according to his son. Pat's ex-wife and and his children were living in Pat's mother's house 60 or so years ago and his ex-wife could not afford to pay Pat's mother the rent so what did Pat say? Pat told his mother to throw them onto the street if they can not pay the rent, Pat's son said that is what happened. Have you heard Pat bitching about giving his mother 5,000 dollars? The guy was a multi-millionaire but he never stopped talking about that. The guy ignored his 2 children from his first marriage, never had anything to do with them. All his "Issues" he had with his 3 sisters, his ex-wife, his son, his daughter, his own mother and father were coming from him. Even his own adopted daughter had nothing to do with him in the last years of his life even though she and her husband lived near him in Vegas, according to Pat's son. The poor guy with all those "issues" was really just a tormented soul and it was all from his own making but he wanted everybody to think he was "the victim" of all those people he had "issues" with. You know the saying, "Don't burn your bridges"? He burned every single one with his family and professionally. Watch the videos of him with his son on Geraldo and the audios from the Stern show and the audios of Opie and Anthony show where he talks about the Friars.
