This man has been a part of every major event for the last 12 years and has been absolutely amazing at it. Sean Woodland's voice goes hand in hand with the Crossfit Games, crossfit open and every Crossfit documentary since 2012. You will be missed, and the commentary will not be the same without you. His athlete knowledge is second to none and his professionalism is top tier. The community will always hold you near and dear to our hearts!

Just cuz I don't understand something doesn't mean it's wrong. I just need it explained to me. Pure words of wisdom Sean that more people on social media need to take to heart. Sean Woodland's voice = Crossfit games.

Sean was the reason I started doing CrossFit. I stumbled on some KZitem videos from the games 8 years ago and he made the sport interesting to me. To be honest Games isn’t the easiest spectator sport to comment but he has always made it exciting to me.

People are going to be very mad if they don’t replace Sean with as much enthusiasm and excitement he brings to the audience as he did. The games will never feel the same watching without his voice but at the end of the day I hope he becomes stronger and finds a better opportunity in his life! Time for a new chapter Sean! You will always be missed at the CrossFit games!

You know... I don't do crossfit, I've never been to a box, but I do watch the games. Even as an outsider, I recognize how much I associate Sean's voice and take with Crossfit that I noticed he wasn't there this past games. I was trying to hunt him down to see if he was now doing media for an athlete like that fella Rory did with Mayhem. It's terrible when a good part of a brand is let go because of budget cuts but wonderful to stumble upon his voice again. Mahalo :)

Sean is the poster child for class act, professional, humble. “Good on ya!” I will miss your voice at the Games this year I hope HQ realizes their huge mistake.

Def agree. I remember watching it live. The run, the whole intensity of the event and then the “call”. I was so hyped! It was a super cool moment. Jeez….and then there was the return of Annie and how after just having a baby made the podium. Everyone was so happy for the surprise result for her and how she did it throughout the competition. Not a dry eye in the house my friend and Sean led us all on the emotional roller coaster that day. Love you man.

Honestly very sad Sean will not be calling the Games thus year. I usually feel like the "newbie" where CrossFit is concerned but he has absolutely been the voice of every Games broadcast I have experienced. He will be missed this year.

The at home viewer's perception of the Games will change. I've watched events where Sean was not commentating, and it feels and sounds wrong. Hearing his voice again after someone else is an actual relief - not just because of the voice but because of the knowledge behind the voice - knowledge of the athletes, knowledge of the sport itself. The next person(s) have massive shoes to fill.

What if…(BIG IF)…CrossFit HQ has decided that the only commentary that will occur is when the games are broadcast on ESPN, and like they did with the “wide camera angle” last year, they will not be broadcasting on KZitem like years past…at all. Cutting ALL the costs of the production aside from national and international viewing via ESPN. Big if, but if that happens, it will be the true death of the sport from the competitive side… I’m just thinking of “left field” ideas since telling Sean he’s not going to be the voice of the sport anymore…as that was very much so a “left field” idea…

That's the point. New top players never want the previous players. They will bring in their connections. They have lost their minds... Like hq says " it's quotas, quite honestly"

It’s time to give some of the great athletes who are well spoken, and have more direct knowledge and opportunity. It’s also great they got rid of the floor interviewer. She was awful. Sean, will find a new opportunity in the space, and do an excellent job, but it’s okay to change and evolve. Just like they should never have brought Castro back. But could Jon kiss Sean - butt anymore. Geez. Good thing Sean is so smart and well spoken, saved this interview, as Jon is so brutal of an interviewer.

No athlete in space will have remotely Seans experience direct or indirect and competing and speaking into a mic are wildly different. Huge risk to do that but surely a cost savings at the expense of the fans.
