I recently discovered your channel and I really appreciate your down to earth way of sharing life. My husband and I tried the off grid life a few years ago in far West Texas. Unfortunately before we got our beautiful cabin fully finished, my husband suffered a blood clot and had a leg amputated. We sold our place and moved to S. Texas to be closer to family and friends. With the $30,000 we for got for our mountain place, we bought 1.5 acres near Lake Corpus Christi, put in a well (our biggest expense) and septic and an old 2 bedroom mobile home. We're both retired and our income is quite low, but have no debt. Our monthly bills are just over $300. We live a very simple life and we enjoy peace. I guess I share all this because I want people to know that it can be done. Thanks for sharing about the small channels. I enjoy them as well.

Thanks a lot for the "Living Dirt Cheap Comfortabley" bump Mike. Hopefully I can live up to the sparkling words you've given my channel. I'm not for everyone and if some of the people find what I do interesting, great! If not, no big deal I realize everyone has different interests. I like to support small channels such as your own (I've watched since your very first video came out), as well. On that subject, here are two I've gotten a kick out of recently. The Vaudevillian - a super sweet couple that does old music from the 20s 30s and 40s, this one's pretty much about music that I just really like and how they do it. The second is Saana Vara, a woman in Finland who lives in up old house with her mate in a small rural type village. Not exactly a microchannel like ours but still under 50k subscribers. She just has an honest appreciation of living life simply in small village life and some traveling.

Sweet Project Cars. Some of his videos made it big but you'd be surprised how well some of the stuff he shares actually works. You can help cut down on consumerism if you use his info. I guess in general just search up different items and things and actions you need to do and you'll find other cool channels as well. I think Lindey Glen is one of my other favorites. She was really good at ebay, still sells online but she's trying all kinds of different ways to make money now however her ebay tips still stand, still work. Very good settings for your store.

Yeah I love small channels too because you can actually connect with the people on them a lot better than the larger ones, which just makes sense. But as someone who comes to youtube a lot to get youtube university degrees in the trades so I can rebuild my old mobile home without hiring folks (because I can't afford to do that! Ha!), so in that regard I usually go to the larger channels since they obviously know what they're talking about if they get a large following, like vancouver carpenter, the handyman, diy solar with will prowse, etc.

I like interacting with small channels because they are able to have time to answer comments. Because we all watch each other’s videos, we get to know each other better. Makes for a friendlier world. I’m a van dweller but not moving around- trying to work as much as possible to buy land. KrossKountryKaspar built out a school bus while she was managing/repairing properties in Florida. The bus is in another state on a friend’s land while she is back working in Florida for the$$. She has land in northeast Oregon that she wants to homestead on so she is doing things in phases. LIFE OF SI- I was subscriber 456 but his channel is blowing up. So eventually it won’t be cozy anymore. He talks about mistakes he made and how he is solving the problem of how to be free and positive in this world. Both channels are honest- warts and wonders. Both about freedom. And they aren’t trying to sell me anything. It’s not a micro channel but this is one of my favorites: New Thinking Allowed. I’ve been watching Jeffery since he was on PBS and on VHS tapes from the library. I read hundreds of books by the authors he has interviewed. He has a great comment policy😁. The livestreams are great and you can ask questions of the authors.
