"Anti-nature" is human society itself. It's the reason for our success, the reason why parents of severely handicapped children can enjoy moments of love and joy with them. It's the reason why we can cure someones disease, so that they can see the world anew and make it better for everyone. Societies, and the reason societies are a worthwhile and successful pursuit for everyone in it is because they MEDIATE natural needs. They say "no, the solution nature give us isn't the best way. This creative, rational and kind solution works better". Rape being one example. Nature cannot give moral solutions. If you want to live "naturally" - then reject society, science, support, tools, language - who are all results of a mediation of nature. To live "naturally" is something like rejecting responsibility for more than your animalistic self. If that is all you want responsibility for - then you might as well reject your humanity. Only humans can take extended responsibility, show extended compassion and sacrifice selfish desires for the benefit of other subjects experience. That is what will last. That is what matters the most about us. You can't realize any ideal of a human without embodying kindness, generousity, innovation, expansion of care, bravely challanging the established morality and identity of your society to include more. So many guys in their early twenties get into this trash, simplified ego-morality where they worship only their own desires and identity. I think they have just fallen for the already established ideology of our time where the purpose of life is to indulge in consumption and have a well polished image and sexual appeal.

Personally I find the answer in a human itself. You may not consciously know, what is it that you value. But your body knows. When you're doing things, you may have different sorts of feelings about what you've done. And actually you can imagine, what would it feel like, if you, for example, got into a relationship, made a friend, learned new skill, called to a loved one or whatever. Those are just examples, but people are the same in some ways. In "Crime and Punishment" the character consiously creates his theory, kills a person and his body respondes poorly. Because in most of us killing is against our nature, no need to rationalise or invent new values. You can just imagine, what it would feel like. Therefore, you can follow the things that give you a sense of meaning (not that it just gives pleasure, but that you can also say that it is good for you, or at least don't cause harm to yourself or anyone else).

Nietzsche was one of those typical Germans, who can be expressed as oberlehrhaft, besserwisser type of a Narcissistic persons whose views are highly skewed! This video explains the main point of his negativity at minute 19:30 - teach Nietzsche to the youth of our time which is already hedonistic and self-centered, and they will turn into anarchists! Nietzsche indeed is divisive. Many Germans of our time are still like him and most likely were the same in his time and before him. So he is only a mirror figure. He is a worshipper of strength, he believed in his superiority over others and finding self-justification of this. He is twisting the meaning of stoicism to calm his own destructive, irritating soul, which is never happy with anything and I bet he had the well known German disease of "meckern" - complaining and criticising literally everyone and everything! He (meaning his work) was therefore easily abused by the Nazis who took up his anarchist concepts of ubermensch and untermensch and treating general population as a herd, who is stupid and can be controlled by the elite few = this is bullshit of the first order! and it is deadly and thats exactly what the Nazis openly revealed, once they grabbed the power. Nietzsche is beyond Narcissism, he is creating a framework to justify the supply chains that we now know that every Narcissist needs to feed himself. His justification framework is based on 1) "defiance to God": because Christianity (the main faith in Germany) expected of him to treat people EQUALLY, KINDLY and FAIRLY, which he could not accept due to his superiority complex, which forces him to treat others as inferiors and not equal, not worthy of fair play, not worthy of being given level-playing field and certainly not possible to be given affection. Affection is afforded when you are not competing with someone from whom you have insecurities. You cannot give affection to someone whom you consider as your competitor and intellectually inferior but still fear for their calibre because deep down in yourself you know they are not really dumb! These are very typical attributes of modern day Germans in the way they treat foreigners. This is the same reason, that most racist people, psychopaths, rich, self-centered and Narcisist people would never believe in God and societies of Western Europe who have moved away from religion have a high concentration of these types of people. 2) "beyond immorality": because he cannot accept his evilness and at the same time, the notion of goodness is based on Christian values that he could not accept. So, he says the "higher man" essentially referring to himself has his own high morals. The world needs no evidence, that every terrible person would also say he is a good person. Men have a good impression of themselves and disagree with other people all the time. This situation ends up in totally different world-views and mindsets, each justifying their own behaviour while defying and hating other people's behaviour. In Germany of today, it is nearly impossible to find colleagues at workplaces that truly accept or like each other, with the exception if they have same wave-length and have a long term past affiliation together, in which case they are thinking the same. Hence, it is absurd and dangerous to say that every person should define and follow their own system of ethics or morality. Western Europeans hate Chinese and the other way around. Germans look down on asians in general and just cannot hide their racistic views but if you confront them, they say, oh we are not racist at all, we treat everyone equal. This self-blindness is widespread and very very deep-rooted, but since most of it is subliminal, they dont know that they are committing an offense. Yet there are some Narcissistic types, that do it openly and enjoy hurting others but have strong sensitivity to getting offended with the slightest sign of similar treatment afforded to themselves! At the same time, these Narcisistic and non-Narcisistic group of people who exhibit subliminal racism or superiority complex show empathy to people from same ethnic / national background while showing absolutely no empathy towards others! In the end, Nietzsche has not given any real philosophy. He has just put to pen, what was and still is the widespread disease of exaggerated self-justified but polemic and pathetic, rebellious and anarchistic nature of most elite class/most university graduated section of German society that existed then and is exactly the same today! His writings are just a reflection of the crooked mentality of cold-hearted evil-bent, power thirsty and self-loving psychopaths!

It's 5 am and I just spent 2 hours replying to people like you about why you're so wrong about him. I'm tired and I'll try to make this as quick as possible. First of all when mentioning superiority, Neitzche believed that the superman who constantly strives to reach his full potential in life as well as thrive in creativity and be truly free and independent of any restrictions disabling him to do so is indeed superior the person who obeys the pety ethical boundaries of society and Christianity knowing they prevent him from living life to the fullest therefore adopting a slave mentality as Neitzche referred to it. It is true that one is superior to the other and there is nothing wrong with that but keep races and self loving psychopaths out of this since then you're just misinterpreting him like so many before you. Also he didn't complain about everything, only the limiting and restrictive ethical boundaries promoted by the church and society which disable us from reaching life to its fullest. Calling Neitzche a reflection of the world is completely inaccurate since he was attacking everything that makes the world bad, not representing. He did indeed talk about strength but power and wanting to rise in power is nothing bad as we should all try to reach our full potential in any department that we choose. Anyway his philosophy is very pro life and is meant to inspire every single individual to break free from any limitations applied upon him by others so suggest that his philosophy reflects and benefits psychopaths and talks about race superiority is very immature and false

This is stupid. He's not a Social Darwinist and the fact that you think he is tells me you have not read ONE SINGLE PAGE of his writing. There's no point talking to you. What he asks is that you accept those otherwise subconscious urges Jung takes as your Shadow into yourself, and become a complete individual: that is what the Over-Man is. He asks that and he also asks, for those who actually have to face physical disease like he or Hawking, that you not blame the World, Nature, and God. He had the strength not to blame anyone for his diseases, so he has the right to ask other people to have the strength to not blame reality for their issues either. He has the right, because he endured his suffering without casting blame. You understand, or no? What I find disgusting is people who, like you, want to speak for the handicapped and downtrodden to gain social credit. Nietzsche was in agony every day because of his disease. If your life sucks, it's pretty much your fault for rejecting reality. Like Christ says, the truth will set you free bro. That's the higher man. The guy set free by truth. Who does not cast blame. @Mike Mo if you have managed to read multiple of his books as you suggest and still label him as a 'protofascist' then your either trolling or you're an actual moron. Your interpretation of the higher man is completely ridiculous. It has nothing to do with races, Neitzche was beyond such simple minded ideas. Rather he referred to the individual itself. The higher man is one of indipendence who breaks free of society's and religion's ethical boundaries in order to reach his full potential in life as well as to discover his limits in creativity and to thrive in it. At no point whatsoever did he focus on specific groups such as poor or handicapped people or races. He aimed to encourage all of us on a personal level to reach our highest potential and be the higher men of the people who still obey society and religion's restrictions completely limiting themselves from any form of creative freedom and therefore adopting the slave mentality as Neitzche called it
@ariskythreotis9725
2 жыл бұрын
@Mike Mo listen my friend if you believe the world will evolve into anything better than what it you will be greatly disappointed. The only thing there is in this life is the will to power, everything else is meaningless. Nothing truly matters in the grand picture of things, but since we were forced into this world should we not try to make the most out of it. The will to power is a game that has existed since the beginning of mankind. It's in human nature to selfish and power hungry creatures, all of human history provides evidence for this and yes I agree with you in the modern era as well. However Neitzche is not to blame for this. He didn't create the game, he simply saw the reality of human nature and existence and instead of denying it like so many other philosophers he embraced it and taught us how to conquer the game. I too would hope for a much different world, however the reality is that the rise to power is the only true meaningful purposes one can give to his life and this will never change because it's human nature. Neitzche recognised this reality andh adapted to it but he never created it. He is the ultimate guide to becoming the superman which is the ultimate goal of life and yes there will always be inferior men with the slave mentality bound by nonsense such as ethical values provided by religion and society. Again I am not saying this is right or wrong, it's just the reality of things and I am adapting to it by the help of Neitzche. Yes at times he had a big ego but saying that's not good is entirely subjective as are most thing in this life including morality

Although the Bible provides plenty of reasons to hate God and its behaviour, the feeling of that hate is entirely predicated on the belief in the existence of the object of that hate. Seeing as atheism lacks that, if an atheist "hates God", they are either not an atheist and are a misotheist, or they are using inaccurate language and failing to acknowledge the predicate or failing to indicate that their hatred is probably more to do with organised religion than it is the particular deity. Not a "No True Scotsman", as what the quote talks about would be an Irishman in that analogy: shares some similar struggles, but completely different in every meaningful way.

The is literally the biggest misunderstanding and misinterpretation of Neitzche I have ever seen. First of all calling his philosophy 'life denying' is complete bs since Neitzche was actually as pro life as someone can be. He encouraged all of us to reach our full potential and to be as creative as possible. He argued however that many ethical morals which Christianity introduces prevent us from reaching this as they encourage a very weak and restrictive mindset disabling to enjoy and thrive in many things life has to offer. Also no man that talks about genocides and murder of millions should be labeled an a Neitzche fan since Neitzche never advocated murder or any form of oppression upon others in general which is why his connection with the Nazis is such a huge misconception and it seems that unfortunately you belong to mass that misinterprets him in such a way that connects him to violence which not only did he not promote but was strongly against. In addition simply refering to his statements and fans as 'edgy' is simply immature. Anyways I could go on to mention a variety of things that are completely inaccurate in this video but the point is you've made it quite obvious that you are in no position to criticize Neitzche as you do not understand any of his works or the meaning behind them.

I don't mind critiques, but I've gotta point out a few lies near the beginning. I'm 99% sure that video is fake. Can't find it anywhere, for one, and for two Neitzsche died in 1900 and the technology for a filmed video WITH SOUND was just not existent then, not publicly. Would've been hell to produce and I doubt anyone would've found Freddy worth the time back then. It's also against Neitzsche's beliefs. He never called himself the overman. He wrote that at best he thought himself a shadow of what the overman could be. He believed none had ever existed yet. This whole video makes him look so hateful. Sure he was arrogant, at least at times, but as a new reader to him it seems to me he truly loved and believed in his virtues, as well as those people he recognized as well-intentioned. Edgelords will make anything edgy. Don't trust them. They'll ruin whatever they touch and in turn rob you of what could have been valuable if given the chance. I disagree with how this whole video interprets Neitzsche, but I won't argue for him. Instead I'll just recommend that people take any conclusions offered here with several grains of salt. Funny stuff tho!

@@cloudthekell Nietzsche never called anyone a Ubermensch, Zarathustra never said how to become a Ubermensch, because such a thing is impossible. Nietzsches philosophy is not utilitarian, it’s not about reaching a goal it is about the journey. He didn’t believe in freewill he didn’t believe people could just flip a switch in their head and become free from Christian morality. It’s about trying many things in your life and changing as a person while having a goal to keep yourself motivated. Unlike the Christian or the Communist who is happy to ruin there life in the desire of a better world that they will probably never get to experience.

@@MateuszMisztela-go8bl Ubermensch translates to overman, It is something over man as in something unattainable by man, Nietzsche always describes it as something that has never existed before and as something always above man,. Nietzsche never describes the Ubermensch as Ubermen, it is never plural. As it is intended to be a replacement for god, something we can sacrifice ourselves for.
