Nice video bro..I have one question..while sleeping in room in the night or while we meditate in PAGODA, do we experience any unusual experiences, I have seen one video in which one person said one of the forigner has seen ghost and it has touchered her and she could not complete the program. Can we consider that she was mentally week or did you experience such things?
@isumitallup
Ай бұрын
@@VRR455 if you follow the instructions properly, you won't experience any of this. I did not experience anything like that when I was there. However, I can understand what might have happened to her. Vipassana meditation goes deep and works on your subconscious mind. There are other techniques that do the same thing as well like breathwork, hypnosis, NLP and visualization. Recently, I was at a breathwork and visualization retreat and during one of the sessions I saw different avatars of God and each of them gave me gifts to use in my everyday life. That's how visualization works. But Vipassana is completely different and when you're practicing Vipassana, you should ignore any visions and focus only on what's real which is the sensations that you feel at the moment. What I think might have happened to the person you speak of is that they started visualizing unconsciously during the Vipassana meditation.
@VRR455

@@isumitallup Thank you so much for the detailed explanation. I will definitely keep in mind to avoid visions which are not real. If you are comfortable could you please share what gifts you received from God 🙏

@@VRR455 Gald I could help :) Lately I've been very much into Spirituality and so during one of the visualizations, I saw myself standing and one by one different avatars of God came and gave me gifts. At the time of the visualization, I just saw it but then later I tried to figure out what the gifts meant. They way it works is that your subconscious mind tries to communicate with you through the visions when you're doing the meditation visualization. First was Krishna, who gave me a conch shell or a shankh, I think it was so that I can get started because I'm a bit of a procrastinator. Because playing the shankh is like the signal that now it's time to begin. Then I saw Hanuman who gave me a copy of the Gita, Bible and other spiritual texts to read. I think it meant that I should read more of these and implement in my life. Then I saw Jesus himself who gave me a grail that I drank from. I think it was like a sign that I'm a believer now because previously I used to be an atheist. Then I saw lord Ram who gave me a sword. I think it was to remind me that I am a warrior and that I need to cut the BS that's holding me back and take massive massive action towards my life's purpose. Then finally I saw lord Shiva who gave me a school which said "Be not afraid, just believe". It was fun and I've been seeing positive changes in my life since this experience. When are you supposed to go for Vipassana?

That's a very much detailed video, TQ, but tell me don't u get bored during the course because u r told only to meditate n no other activities! N y r we not allowed to exercise? It's good right?
@isumitallup
2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your kind words. I did get bored a little bit towards the end, maybe on day 8 and 9 but most of the time you don't get bored because every morning you are taught new things that you need to practice throughout the day. And if you really make up your mind and do the meditation then you don't really get bored. Hours fly by like minutes but if you get distracted and start thinking about things then you start to get bored. I actually started thinking about making this very video towards day 8 and 9 and that's why I got distracted and started getting bored but before that it was smooth for me. Before the course I had never meditated more than 20 minutes and on the first day I was very surprised how easy it was for me to meditate for hours without getting bored. About the exercise, yes, exercise is good but they don't really allow it because they want you to give Vipassana meditation a real shot. If they start allowing people to exercise then other people would want to do yoga then some others would want to do some other practice and then if these people do experience some transformation while they are there they will not be sure if it was because of Vipassana meditation or because of the Yoga or some other activity they did. So that's why they ask you to do just one thing for 10 days as it should be done so that when you leave you know exactly what you have to do and what it makes you feel and does it work for you or not. I hope this answers your questions, if you have anymore questions feel free to ask them, I'd be happy to answer. :)

Hey brother. Very well detailed. Impressive work and great experience. I am an advanced mediator, and am thinking of doing 10day Vipassana at home (time constraints and I was too late to register in the course). Do you think it's practical, given I'll have to prep my meals and find time to meditate and relax. Will it disrupt the process?
@isumitallup
11 ай бұрын
Sorry for the super late response brother. I don't think it's possible to do 10 day Vipassana if you're doing it for the first time because of the following reasons: 1) You will not have access to the teachers. 2) You will be tempted to break the discipline by talking to others, reading or watching something. 3) People will try to contact you and disrupt your process. 4) You won't be able to understand the nuances of the practice because every day they play different guided meditations which build on top of each other. 5) It takes 5 days just to sharpen your awareness to the point after which you can actually start doing Vipassana meditation. (At the course, you do Ana Pana Meditation and not Vipassana for the first five days.) If you're really serious about it, just register wherever you can find a spot and do it.

The three important tenets of Buddhism is to know that mind and matter are all 1.Impermanent 2.suffering and 3.Non-self To meditate means to meditate on mind and matter and be aware of it. The difficulty with the meditator here is they try to meditate on concepts of impermanence, suffering and non-self. Concepts don't exist. Take Seeing for example. In the beginning, there is no seeing, but if the eye is good, the object comes up, there is light and your attention is drawn to it. If these four conditions concur, then there is seeing. Once it has arisen, then it passes away. So we say, seeing is impermanent. Since the meditator is watching every arising, all things mental and material appear to him as separate,broken pieces. He is no longer illusioned.

@isumitallup

Hi Meenakshi, First of all sorry about the super late reply, I've been really busy with work lately so I don't check KZitem that often. Now, to answer your questions. The purpose of Vipassana is to see reality as it is and not as it should be, what that means is that once you learn the technique and the philosophy behind it, you will be be able to reduce the needless suffering in your life that is created by not accepting things as they really are. It's kind of hard to explain but you will get it when you attend the course. After the camp, they suggest that we should practice the meditating with the technique they teach us every day for an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening. And you're right it's hard to make it a part of our lifestyle. I personally don't do it, I can't seem to find the time. But however, I do realise that I should be doing it. So, I am working towards changing my lifestyle so that I can do it. In the meantime, every day I meditate using the Headspace app for 20 minutes and that's it. I hope this answers your questions. Thanks for watching 😊

You can wear a watch to keep track of the time, there's a wall clock in the meditation hall as well. Also, there are speakers all around the campus and when it's time to move from one location to another or when one meditation session ends, they play the sound of a gong, so you can use that to sense that it's time for the next activity as well. Hope this helps. Best of luck for your course. 😊

How did you survive the night without dinner? Can we ask for something to eat in case we feel starved?
@isumitallup
3 жыл бұрын
Honestly, it wasn't a big deal for me. I ate a big lunch and then ate the snacks in the evening till I was full and I never felt really hungry or anything since I used to go to sleep at like 9:30 or something. I guess you can ask for something if you have some health issue but if it's nothing serious then I think you will be able to manage without dinner. And in the course they tell you why you're not getting the dinner and it's because it helps you concentrate, it makes your meditation easier, so it's better to not have dinner because in the end you're there to meditate and it's hard so anything that you can do to make it easier, you should do it. I hope this answers your question! 😊

To be honest, I don't really practice Vipassana Meditation daily. I want to, but I'm not able to fit it in my schedule as they suggest that you should meditate for atleast 1 hour every day. I can only do 20 minutes, that's the time that I can spare for it so I meditate using the Headspace app. But I've experienced the change in the 10 days I was there and I want to get to a place in my life where I can do it every day for an hour. So if you're wondering if it's worth it, then let me tell you it certainly is.
