@pilotkaity I just use Microsoft Flight simulator 2020 with logitech rudder pedals, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, Logitech auto pilot, Logitech radio panel, gear, flaps and switches and use Logitech flight stick when flying planes or helicopters with a stick. I even talk to 'real people' on Vatsim ATC who give clearances, IFR and VFR flights. It is very realistic and I have a fairly powerful computer that can run all these peripherals and two monitors. I use a program similar to 'Foreflight' called Navigraph. It's a subscription for about $15/month and it has almost all the charts for airports, taxiway, departures, Arrivals, and Approaches. It also has moving maps with every frequency etc. Great for flying IFR especially. Love your channel and wish I could have been a pilot but lost my leg above the knee to cancer. I had 10 days before surgery and got in 9 1/2 hours instruction in a 150. Oh well I was a Prosthetist making artificial limbs until I retired. Thanks for your interest! Being an anesthesiologist, many studies have been done(in anesthesia) about the work environment, work flow, multitasking of both our professions being similar..critical moments of going to sleep (taking off) and waking up (landing). Also, constant multitasking and staying 5 -10 steps ahead of everything. So, I enjoy watching pilots do these things well and you do them well. Thanks for taking the time to shares these things and it will be fun when you get your additional GoPro. Looks like you have a pretty good gig. I expect our pilot to be FAR more involved in the airplane and its operations, in that they must be intimately involved in the maintenance, catering, servicing, budgeting, airport amenities, cleaning and the entire upgrade cycle. We know an operator who's pilot is an IA as well who is completely in charge of his 2 airplanes from every aspect. We pay comparably to the airlines, but our pilot also has the freedom to crew in other jets, be a CFI, do ferry flights and perform acquisition and operation consulting when he is not flying the annual 300-400 hrs for us. We absolutely love our pilot and are thrilled that he makes a great money altogether.
