yes the night shift typically is much less quite, not nearly as many management or pedestrians to worry about it, but if you have kids you won't get to see them very much working 2nd shift.

I’m always excited to go on the order picker that my supervisor makes fun of me. I make sure to work like hell when replenishing the warehouse on the order picker. I normally operate the reach forklift but there’s just something about the order picker that makes time go by super fast

You're allowed to have it. My facility isn't assigning lockers to keep people from congregating in the locker area, so you bring your belongings in a clear bag that you can have on the floor.

Outside of talking to yourself or the boxes (I've done it), this is just to show daily life. Hell, there's days I'll be stuck in aisles with three other pickers and get to talk, but it's mostly silent

Yeah I work nights and another job and still have a social life if your a single mother or father I don’t recommend it. Oh and the pay isn’t 15 in the distribution center it’s 18 to start in Oregon and we’re one of the lowest paying buildings most sites start at around 20+ an hour plus as much ot as we want most of the year. I’m Sure most beggars aren’t making 550 -900 a week after taxes

omg! that 3:37, I was doing inventory thingy at those heights first time for about 10 minutes or so, by god! the feeling.. it is fear of heights at it's finest, but exciting nevertheless. am just glad I was blessed to have wonderful trainers and co-workers.

@@Jeff-xv6gk usually people start as pickers. Nah, I work in the shipping department both inbound and outbound. Load and unload trucks, wrap pallets, put inventory in spreadsheets. I drive stockpicker when I'm stocking the shelves. I use the sitdown counterbalance to unload, and walke rider to load. If I need to put a whole pallet on a rack I use the reach truck.

You can't use those machines unless you got licenses for them. I'm going to work in a warehouse liek this, and I'm female. I can't use those machines though until I do the training for them. So I wouldn't worry about it.

I got a job at a warehouse back in august and the position I hold is building assortments but I have to pick my own items to build the assortments so they had me train on the order picker. I wasn’t given a choice it was just like here’s your harness let’s start training and this is a good job with benefits so ofc I didn’t say anything against it. I learned to drive it’s easy the scary part is when I am at the aisles that are super wide and especially when I have to get the larger heavy boxes dude the gap from the platform to the shelf is scary.. sometimes I can’t get myself to grab the item and I have to go tell a guy to get it for me. Sucks but it’s just I don’t want to force myself to do something and it could lead to accident or injury.. my life not worth this job

At my job there’s not a lot of females on the pickers/forklifts. But I’m on a very small shift doing graveyard. In my department there are 2 of us girls. I’ve only been on one for about 4 or 5 months. It’s a lot of hard work😂but there’s definitely females.....
