Beautiful video! I love the new colts and I have a soft spot for those J💙 horses! Perhaps it’s because they live close by haha! Can’t wait for upcoming videos! And the round pen! Omg! To die for! 🎉🎉🎉

Hi again AMRY LOL scratches work everytime lol. So cute! The boys are doing great as you're building a foundation on them that will last a lifetime. What a treat to have such a big round pen. Lots of success will be going on there for years to come. Fun to see Fred close up living his best golden years life. Good to see more weight on the old guy going into another year. Thx as always for sharing. So enjoy watching you use all your training skills. Catcha again soon.

I personally think that Jello will make a helluva riding horse but any horse that you train will be a dang good horse😁 I LOVE how much those colts enjoy scratches!!!!! I actually LOL! Jello is soooooo ecstatic over scratches❤️ I know quite a few people who feed their senior horses Total Equine & swear that it made a real improvement to their quality of life. I remember the Sully video😳 Glad that no one was hurt! Thank you for another great video💖

When I was doing it, everything on the ranch got Omolene 300, a dash of Clovite and a dash of Calf Manna. I think the ranch manager came up with that . Used to mix oats in there too, but the vet that they used later on (after I started) said the oats were pointless. It was a broodmare operation with no standing stud; everything was shipped off to be bred. IIRC, there were roughly 45 mares. Racing ¼ horse and cutters. The weanlings got the same ration, as did the 2½ dozen ranch geldings. (We had brood cows and stockers, too.)

Steve Young Horsemanship has an interesting device thing that is a safety tie. It's very interesting. Resolves a lot of danger for when they're tied out. Not a snap clip, its a solid piece, ie-no moving parts. It can be used several ways.

Great job with the colts, Amry ... I don't have a lot of experience feeding weanlings but I have a ton with old ones. I prefer Purina SafeChoice Senior and because the oldies usually have bad teeth, I mix with hay stretcher pellets, all soaked together. The horses love the hay stretcher and it really helps maintain weight.💌

What was your survey? How did you attach your fence wire to your stays? Of what is your stays made? Cedar?
@cnahorses
5 ай бұрын
The results of the survey are pretty 50/50 … because it isn’t top priority and there are a lot of other projects the stays will stay natural for now. They are cedar stays attached with staples from a staple gun 😊

You make it look so easy! What a great job you did and get to do everyday! Are you working with the young ones everyday? How often do you work with the adult horses?
@cnahorses
8 ай бұрын
I work these young ones consistently for about a month or two and when I feel like they know the basics I just leave them alone and let them be colts for a little. We do this off and on until they are 2-3 year olds. Once they turn 4 thats when the 'adult' jobs begin and they get work every day we can ☺️

In general do you soak the food in warm or cold warm and how long do you let it soak in ? Just wondering in case I have to do it someday ! Thanks for posting !! I just love how you work the horses ! Wish you were closer I’d definitely get a foal buuttt I’m in Wisconsin sooo for now I’ll just enjoy. Thanks again ! ❤️🐴❤️ Ps- May I suggest a small but wide toothed garden rake to use for the scratches? It may be easier on your hands but I’d love doing that for the foals also ! Doesn’t bother me to have hands dirty either )
@cnahorses
7 ай бұрын
Generally we just soak it in cold water because thats what comes out of our hose and makes it convenient .... but I know some people that perfer warm water! I feel that once it is soaked in and sits for a few minutes it doesn't really matter. I would say the important part is to let it soak long enough all the water gets absorbed ☺️ Thanks for coming along our training and love the idea about a garden rake ☺️

You cut the top to open the tire up some more for drinking and then the bottom gets filled with concrete and that seals it making it hold water. If we put any more in we'll make a video about it!
