Real rap. Most BKs do. Shame I think we will see it die out before any other main fast food place. Theres not many BKs around me, and the one that is near by is so run down on the outside, drive thru has huge potholes in it, side of building falling off, out of stuff half the time I order (which isnt often)....then 1 mile down the road is a nice ass McDonalds, always people there, 2 drive thru windows, everything new and renovated.....sucks because Burger King was always my favorite growing up

If you still work there or even if you don’t, I commend you for working at a place like this. People think fast food jobs are a cakewalk. It takes a LOT of initiative and there’s a LOT of BS you have to put up with that only people who work those jobs would understand. The same with a factory. I give you much respect and hope that everything continues to go and work in your favor! Some of your commentary is hilarious too! Lmaoo…😂😂😂😂
@davidfence6939

Fast food jobs have a bit of labor and the customer service. They aren't incredibly difficult. there's a lot of BS in every job. You've not worked much in your life. Corporate or government. Private or public. Chain or local. All have their own BS. You're not avoiding it. You're going to work with other people no matter the job. However, chain fast food jobs are rather simple because they're scripted. Either corporate or your franchise has set up a pattern for your job. How to load the fries. The order in which you build a burger. Etc. That makes them simple job because if you do what you're told there's not a lot of thinking involved. The most thinking you have to do is in dealing with other people. As stated before you do that EVERYWHERE. If someone can't handle dealing with other people at a fast food job then they better hope they find a desk job they can do from home.

You are so right. I did my time working at Pizza Hut and McDonald's while I was at university and you have a lot to think about, foresee orders and being aware of the busy/non busy times etc. I also think that some people feel it's okay to treat you badly especially for things that are not in your control. It's also hard working in a hot environment, I used to hate the fries station because it was constant. We all need to respect and be kind to each other.

I’m also an opener at Burger King and I have never seen eggs be cooked in the oven. We have an egg cooker that we use, but it’s nice to see how other Burger Kings work differently. Your kitchen is most definitely different from ours. I mean our Burger King isn’t really that big. All of us don’t really have just one position. One day I’ll be in drive thru and the next I’ll be on the board. I completely understand how you feel about short staffed. Most of the time our morning shift consist of 4 or 5 people. There have been days where I had to open in kitchen and drive thru by myself because we didn’t have enough people. I work at least 10 hrs a shift(5am-3pm) sometimes even later because our night crew doesn’t seem to want to come in on time and I have wait for my relief to get there. I feel you on the rude costumers. I hate those costumers that are just rude and want to complain about anything and everything. Hope everything is going good for you now!

I used to open a BK in the mid 80s and we had trays of eggs we'd crack into a giant bucket and scramble with a massive whisk. Then I'd float a square pan on the fry oil and pour the eggs into that pan to cook. There was a metal insert you'd put into the eggs that would form perfect squares as they cooked. The bacon was microwaved and the sausage patties were cooked in the flame broiler like burgers. Breakfast was really very good back then. No egg liquid in a carton. We had a magic cleaning crew that come in at 2am and the place was squeaky clean by the time I came in to prep at 4. The manager DID go to jail for doing coke with a hooker in the restaurant but that's another story :)

My brother would work 10 or 12 hours a day as a closer, deal with people who were buttholes because they were understaffed. It killed me to see him day after day just being mentally and physically drained every single day after work. BK does not take care of their employees at all. Pay is trash for all the work that you have to do. I'm glad to see it wasn't just the BK where he worked was a diaster. I'm glad to see now it's just BK as a company who is trash. Our REALLY busy days are Monday’s, Tuesday’s, Thursday’s and Friday’s. This brought back a lot of memories being the opener when I was in my 20s. Loved the serenity, first cup of coffee in the morning. You seem to be a dedicated worker who takes pride in what you do. Good luck in your new job!

Not at the Bk I go to, they already got the stuff ready. as soon I drive up my sandwich is handed to me in a few seconds. Unless they need to make it fresh, which I don't mind waiting for.
