Rubies are nice. I prefer sapphires, rubies, and emeralds to diamonds typically.

I wish he could have mentionned what the other gems were made of on the Ruby necklace. Were they worth so much because of the other gems as well or were the other gems only chrystals and the necklace worth so much only because of the 14 carats ruby ? But I know that the necklace with the other gems, do add values because of how good it looks but I wish there would have been more info about the gems so I would know for myself as I am currently learning how to facet sapphires.

Beruwala has got some of the worst collections ever. Better go to Ratnapura for higher quality sapphires.

what is a Z sample?

I was wondering the same thing. I believe he stopped at "F" and the "Z" was only there because it meant to be the end of the alphabet. For other openings but not necessarily used. Like he said, he uses his common sense a lot but it leaves us wondering too.

what about GIA errors between rubies and sapphires? also they make many mistakes with emeralds and other precious stones. I think this lab is too overrated

It is a shame that GIA had done so much work on this rubies, i have a few of them that i have sent for certification and it seems like no one in GIA had follow what was presented in this movie, They have sent my rubies back within a day saying it is all synthetic rubies. HAHA. GIA is a joke to some customers and they are making many mistakes then they don't even correct them. I will never use GIA again in my life.
