I would have thought in a city of that size, the traffic would be a lot worse. I imagine on a football weekend it's horrendous!

It is a full blown nightmare. We went to a Tennessee VS Bama game about 12 years or so ago, while it was a blast it literally took us almost 2.5hrs to get to the Interstate.

Yes the normal weekday and weekends are totally fine but I can’t even imagine the nightmare that a game weekend brings.

The busy areas are skyland and McFarland and 69 most people in Tuscaloosa don’t even go downtown 😂

Just to clarify, Tuscaloosa is called the Druid City, not the City of Druids. It got that nickname because of the druid oak trees. Downtown isn't super busy on weekdays. Lots of people work there, but, unless it's lunchtime, they're all in their offices. You'll see more traffic on McFarland Boulevard, 15th Street, and Skyland Boulevard. University Boulevard turns into a parking lot around UA when classes change. When you come back, you need to visit downtown Northport, right across the river from downtown Tuscaloosa. Also check out the area around Capitol Park. Also, if you want to try the places where people usually go to lunch, try Hooligans, Swen, Ichiban (a robot brings your food to your table), and City Cafe, to name a few. Oh, I almost forgot the Waysider, Innisfree, and, last but not least, Taco Casa. No, not a Taco Bell clone. It doesn't pretend to be authentic Mexican or Tex-Mex. It's very much its own thing.

At 6:00, what did you say is everywhere? I went back and listened again, but still didn't understand the word or words you said. I don't follow any sports at all, but I know the name Bear Bryant from watching the old TV show, BJ and the Bear. I remember the character, BJ once telling someone that he named his chimpanzee "Bear" after Bear Bryant.

@@MillerMeteor74 The University of Alabama football team is referred to as the Roll Tide or Crimson Tide. My first comment refers to signs and banners displayed everywhere that cheer on that team. Alabama has a huge football following, with Tuscaloosa being one of the hotbeds for it and the town of Auburn being the other.

There's acrually closer to 150,000, not including students. And traffic can be bad on game day but generally speaking moving 105,000 people into and out of the city goes smoothly

It’s such a unique area. Has almost a small town feel one minute then seems like an urban Mecca on game days

@@shaneandmelody Actually most people live out in the county. You go into the city for govt business. Or to see a lawyer. Since Mercedes moved in fifteen miles away there's probaby over 300,000 in the county
