Hello and welcome.
I've used clips taken from about 2 months of trial and error on Xbox Series X to form a storyboard of the whole journey in 7 minutes.
I started by successfully landing Asteroids near the KSC on career, which felt like an impossible task for a long time. After finding out that the Asteroids are not even worth much to the kerbals, I decided to start a rock collection.
A bit of learning later, I managed to reliably pick up the rocks and move them. The obsession grew from there, I wanted bigger. After enough practice, I started getting better at bowling the big rocks, despite the concerns raised by the KSC.
By this point the funds where getting low so I accepted 2 contracts to land the smaller, type B and type C asteroids. I wanted to add a twist to the contract by landing them both at the same time, on target. Which turned out being way more difficult than I thought. It gave me a sense for the problem with moving the bigger Comets, when it comes to efficiency and amount of time.
I then tried for a long time to get the smaller type B asteroid back in the air. The first issue I had was the weight shown on the asteroid did not seem to correspond to the actual weight when I tried to lift with propellers. Not sure if that's a bug exclusive to console, but I persevered.
I gave up with the propellers for a while and tried to lift the rock with a plane. The only major change I had to make, which didn't feel intuitive, was doubling the wings. Had some fun with an aero dynamic space rock and practiced some precision deliveries. Again, the KSC had reservations. After some reassuring, I wanted to know if a space rock could be as graceful as a Dolphin...
I later returned to making a space rock helicopter and to my surprise, after a lot of balancing and adding more engines and props, it actually worked.
The video ends with Jeb summiting the Asteroid stack to get a selfie with his new monument.
Thanks for watching.
Have a great day!
