Right in the heart of Lodhi Colony, which came up around 1947 and named after king Sikander Lodhi, lies an old abandoned railway station on the now-forgotten ring railway route.
Ring railway was a precursor to Delhi Metro. The thought was the same - to build a mass transit system that would criss-cross the heart of Delhi. It was constructed and inaugurated just before the Asian Games in 1982.
Today the network lies forgotten and abandoned. And so are these wonderful little railway stations that lie on this route.
A small video to acquaint you with the forgotten ring railway and its station network.
On a beautiful March day.
