Nice job Kipper. Just to let you know .... You definitely can't mount your solar panel under that bar .. There can't be any obstruction to a solar panel ....Even a leaf sitting on a panel will seriously limit the output .. It's just how they work .... PJ.

Thank you Joe, it still manages to produce enough power to keep 2 Engels running and 2 batteries charged, but in the future I may look at popping it above the steel frame just to see how much more current it can produce, thanks for your input bud

do you have a similar gear in downunder as we do here in the german armed forces? the older unimog had 3 gear levers. main lever for the 8 gears .... obviously;) split lever for high / low and a lever for forward / backward. or the newer ones with a switch for H / L and "only" 2 reverse gears

Nice, Thanks for the tour. I'm soon to start looking for one but I may take the easier (but much more expensive route) and get Unidan to build me one. Where did you manage to source your rims? They are what I want as well, but so far I have been told I gotta find someone to actually fabricate them. Its the 20" that the critical bit (with the bead locks). Did you manage to go Inner and Outer bead locks or just Outer? Yeah, they are slow, but then they go almost anywhere. You mentioned you took it across a salt lake. Damn, that was game! I take my old 75 Series LC just about anywhere, but learned years ago (when I almost lost it) to leave bottomless wet sand alone. Heavy vehicle and watery sand dont play well together. :) Well done for getting 7 tone out! I spend several hours with the vehicle broken through a crust on one side, sitting on the springs at 45 degrees in a creek bank with the tide coming in. At one point drivers seat was 1/2 under water and engine 1/2 under water. Thank god for good snorkel and old style Diesel. Couldn't believe it when it finally popped up on top of the crust and just drove out. Couldn't believe the winch still worked completely submerged in salty tidal water. Looks like you live in Mundaring or somewhere with similar bush. Used to hit the powerlines all the time, but its been a few years now.

Hey mate, it's true I am actually selling the rig for 100k Ono, I sourced the rims from Ben Nash at mog central, he also installed the lift kit, replaced the portal hub seals and bearings along with other things you need to get it licensed, let me know if you ever have any questions about the build 👍 I do base myself in Mundaring and it loves the powerlines, there isn't a track it won't be able to go down 😂 cheers for the interest

Hey, mate, awesome rig you have! Me and my partner are going to do the unimog thing, live in it, be awesome and all that but we can't find any info on how much, or what the registration process would be! Just an estimate cost would be nice. Any info on that would be a huge help!

Sure thing, I paid 30G for the truck from grays online, I spent around 10G to get it road worthy, once passed I spent another 15 on the lift kit and tires etc... then the camper and various other upgrades cost around 50G to build 👍
