A spectacular moment to witness the solidarity and unity of Bukidnon’s seven tribes (Talaandig, Umayamnon, Matigsalug, Higaonon, Tigwahanon, Manobo and Bukidnon) at the Talaandig’s ancestral domain in Songco, Bukidnon. For the first time, the seven tribes performed a Kaliga considering each has their own way of performing the Kaliga ritual.
To the Indigenous People of Bukidnon, Kaliga is the highest form of ritual of thanks giving. Sometimes it is celebrated for good harvest, proclamation of leadership or installation of new chieftain.
The ritual could last 3-9 nights depending on the depth of message for the gathering. Kaliga is also called the reunion of spirits. For it is also where the family can reunite again after being separated from each other. That story dates back from the day of rapture during the time of Apo Agyu - a bukidnon epic.
