@@Travelingcub no, that’s about a $5000 caviar if bought NOT at a restaurant lol. That’s 250g of Kaluga Huso Hybrid caviar. That tin alone before anything else is 4500. At a restaurant however, add 20-50% to that price. This meal cost probably 8-900 each, easily. Even more so if they’re good friends and tip the guy because he probably just does this at cost if it’s for his friends and they tip him. At a restaurant I would imagine it’s a $1-1.2k per person meal easy. I didnt count how many people, but I think it’s 5-6, so you’re at 800 each just on caviar my dude.

I really love the setup, how you have your kitchen right next to the dinner table so even as you're cooking while the guests are eating, you're still part of the social atmosphere. With a barrier between, it'd be easy to not feel like you're really part of the party, but like this you can all still talk together.

@@MaliciousLeothat’s how we know you never paid more than $300 for a meal. That tin of caviar is already $517 ($100 p.p.) American wagyu is roughly $80 p.p, fish and entrees roughly $60-$70 p.p, Dessert $5 p.p. Not including drinks. That means he has spent nearly $300 p.p just on ingredients. Any restaurant worth its salt would charge at least 50% margin on that so $450 p.p would be a good estimate.
@yamamancha

@@FallINMItch44 Yeah, you also have to factor in the type of establishment serving such a menu with such ingredients. $500 all-included would be considered a value.
@joeybible683

It all depends. Was the entire can of caviar purchased for table side presentation or was it supposed to just be a component of a dish? How much were the drinks? Is it real wagyu from a prefecture like Kobe or was it wagyu style beef? (He says in the video it's American wagyu). Was every single ingredient, from the Evo to the walnuts to the freaking salt, painfully sourced from some exclusive, seasonal specialty vendor? We used to get wild chanterelle mushrooms at a place I worked that were legit hand picked by some a hole in the forest, they had dried pine needles and twigs and all kinds of bs all mixed in there with them. The platings shown in the video are certainly not worth 500 bucks and neither is the amount of courses. $500 a person is a lot of money and a lot has to go into a dining experience to even begin justifying that price tag; a fancy dinning room, a large well trained staff, exclusively sourced seasonal ingredients and then lots and lots of courses! For 500 bucks I'd expect at least 11 if not up to 22 plates of food to be spammed down in front of me throughout the evening. Also remember, restaurants have wholesale accounts. Anything you buy in a store or even online will have a premium attached to it. Even crazy rare, expensive ingredients like truffles are much cheaper for a business with a wholesale account to purchase than the average Joe buying on the street. The dinner in the video is definitely not worth $500 at a reputable establishment, I wouldn't pay anything close to that. For sure tho, it cost atleast that much to put together for his friends if not significantly more. Hope they enjoyed it, he seems like a legit homie!
@yamamancha
7 ай бұрын
@@joeybible683 Assuming you're buying everything new, it's $1,300 to $1,500 to source all the ingredients for this meal ($600 beef, $150 caviar, $35/ea fish (x4), $25 chicken, cream, herbs, butter, etc., plus $200 for alcohol). Then there's the chef's labor. A restaurant with a wholesale account could source things cheaper. But for a private chef's table experience of this caliber, you're definitely paying a premium.

For anyone wondering, that’s about a $1-1.2k per person meal at a restaurant. The caviar is like $4500 alone, NOT bought with a restaurant markup. 5 plates, 900 each at cost. Steak and fish with drinks before all is another 15-200 each.
