Aww man...bummer to hear that. I'm still rocking the factory battery 3 years in...no issues. I had a few glitches with my fuel pump relay causing stalling...but after I replaced it, it's been fine ever since. As you see in this video, the himmi definitely isn't ideal for interstate, but it does fine for me at 70 mph on secondary highways. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah some of those turns along the Coronado Trail were definitely a bit hairy...and wouldn't want to do at night for sure! Thankfully, the tone and behavior of the engine didn't change at all for the entirely of the ride...woohoo! My helmet microphone dropped down in my helmet and picked up much more wind noise in the last few hundred miles. I did my best to edit it out in processing, but it didn't work well :-(

Well done! What's your rule-of-thumb for how you use the "Trip F" meter? How far do you comfortably take it before you gas up?
@On2Feet
Жыл бұрын
On this ride I fueled up at every half tank in order to get more receipts for tracking. Normally though I’ll go 30-40 miles on F comfortably. I did a fuel range test a while back on all high speed riding and got 210 total miles with about 80 on Trip F
@PeterBeens
Жыл бұрын
@@On2Feet Thanks, good to know. I'm only at 1000 km (600 miles) on my new '22 so still trying to get the hang of that fuel gauge. I'm really not liking that it gets to E so fast!
@advmike
Жыл бұрын
I’ve gotten up to 75 miles on F mode but I carry an extra pint of reserve fuel with me. Too scary to see that gauge on E. 😂
@PeterBeens
Жыл бұрын
@@advmike That checks with what I'm thinking. My odometer's metric so I'll use 100 km (62 miles) on the F trip meter as my "GAS UP BY NOW" point. That should still give me a margin.
@FourElevenAdventure
Жыл бұрын
@@PeterBeens have a 2020 Himmy in Australia. With a loaded bike I don’t like to push the F trip past 100km. At F 100 I was able to squeeze in 13.3L when refuelling, which equates to just under 2L of reserve left in the tank.
@kittywampus
Жыл бұрын
What did fuel mileage work out to be? I saw "cost of fuel" but not gallons. Just curious.
@On2Feet
Жыл бұрын
I will look at actual fuel totals, but a rough estimate given gas prices is that I used about 20 gallons (so 50 miles per gallon). This aligns with my earlier fuel range test I did on the highway where I got about 210 miles on a full tank (~4 gallons).
@kittywampus
Жыл бұрын
@@On2Feet that's roughly what I figured. Was the bike loaded? I'm guessing that you ran it pretty hard in places to get the 50mph average as well. Impressive ride for a bike that's not made to eat the miles of highway.
