I wonder how many people will see the thumbnail photo of Peter and the first 5 words of the title and assume this is advice on how to LOSE your hair (Commented with nothing but love for Dr. Attia and this pod) - Dumb internet anon

My wife and I love Dr Attia's content. His content has been life changing for us. We sent his book to everyone in our family. The audible of his book is exceptional. He has such a pleasant narration voice to listen to. We often listen to his book while weightlifting, driving, or relaxing. Having listened and / or read it at least half a dozen times now, we still learn something new every time. We love our journey with him.

If hair loss is going to count as a quality of life issue that's worth treating, are you going to go into other cosmetic things that make people unhappy and how to treat them? Hirsutism and laser hair removal? Congenital nevi? Orthodontics? It might actually be worthwhile to do a full episode on cosmetics, costs, and the risks of getting obsessed with doing cosmetic work to the point that one ends up looking uncanny?

As Peter said in the intro, he is doing this podcast because he gets asked about hair loss alot by patients and comments sections. If those that you listed also have enough people wanting a podcast on them, then I assume he will.

What’s the verdict on taking Finasteride? Should you take it daily?
@nomad6086
11 күн бұрын
I'm 63 & don't take finasteride daily but just on Mon/Wed/Fri. I learned this regiment from "The Hair Loss Show" - two hair loss specialists from Australia. They have clinical data this dose is a safe & an effective dose as well as a good starting point. I was have sides with the standard 1 mg daily dose. I was experiencing hair thinning in the frontal area & vertex. Complete stabilization & some regrowth in the vertex area. Very satisfied.

Why does it only affect some hair? I have classic male pattern baldness and virtually all my underarm hair has gone. Facial and pubic hair are unaffected. It seems odd hair thinning is so selective.

I’ve always heard it’s coming from your mom’s side but that personally hasn’t been true for me. My moms dad had the typical fully bald top at 50 already and my dads father had tons of hair in his late 70’s. I am 46 with no thinning even at the temples although I’ve noticed more greys the last few years especially above the ears and the hair does seem dryer now vs when I was younger.

$20 USD a month? Ouch. With millions of listeners that seems pretty handsy in the ol' wallet. Try $5. With even a million subscribers you can do the math, and you have more than a million. You'd do just fine at $5 a month.
