1:10 Scroll with the _left_ mouse button?? Huh? For me, that does a box select. Scrolling is middle mouse button. Are my Blender settings non-default? I thought this was the default...
@harryblends

Well ..... yes. That's a mistake. It's most definitely MMB and (when it comes to scrolling at least) there's nothing out of the ordinary about your Blender settings. I think I got a little lost in wave after wave of keyboard shortcuts and this blunder escaped unseen into the wild. There's a neat way to fix the issue - I think... but in the meantime I'm pinning your comment. You saw something and you said something. Thank you

Extra note , some times getting out of a node group that does have many node groups inside it can be really hard using tab , so the better way to exit a node group is ctrl+tab And man keep going , i really love your videos 🔥

level 4: add the shortcut `O`. this connects geometry to the output of the current group (as appsed to ctrl + alt + RMB, which connect it to the most outter output).
@harryblends

Yes. It's not in level 4 because it's a node wrangler shortcut. I should have included it in level 5 though. I left quite a lot out in that level because I thought that 15 minutes was a lot for a parade of shortcuts. I'll include 'O' in future versions though. Thank you!

That mention of the trouble with Shift+D generating nodes in *precisely* the same spot is very important. I once spent *hours* debugging a complicated node setup where I must have accidentally Shift-D'd a whole load of nodes and not moved them at all. I honestly wish there was an indicator for that.
@harryblends

It's happened to me so many times. In a complex setup it can be so hard to diagnose you start to lose confidence in your sanity. An indication that a node is overlapping another would be great.

5:48. This is such a well put video, that I hesitate to mention you say control+shift+D to duplicate with links, but the box on the screen says control+alt+lmb... 😅
@harryblends

Ah. Thank you. The irony is - it says the wrong shortcut because I used shift+D to duplicate the one that said Ctrl+Alt+LMB. Oh, well. I'll fix it in the file. I'll probably need to do an update of this video before too long and will acknowledge your keen observation skills when I do ....

@@harryblends I'm very familiar with the disadvantage of duplicates: they have all that we want to keep, but none of what we want to change... If only there was a way to tell whether something is an identical clone of the original, or just its sibling... 😂

That is actually more than beginners friendly geo node introduction. I have a question for you mate I have a grid with 24 verts in X axis and only 2 in y axis and I wanna select certain edges for example selecting every other edge to make a wave based on the geometry | | | Or I wanna select every two || ||

I wonder how do you make these hybrid animations where you dynamically switch from a playback to actually modeling like at 0:30 ? Is your cursor movement pre-recorded ? Thanks
@harryblends

It’s a composite of a screen-capture of the 3d viewport and a render of the same animation (with transparency). There’s a crossfade in the middle of the move to blend them together. The mouse is from the capture - I had the blender window smaller than full screen so I could move the mouse in from offscreen. The animation/setup is in the file available for free on my patreon - www.patreon.com/HarryBlends
