Thanks for the break down of these poetic devices. The way you presented the content made the terms very palatable.

Amazing explanation on the how (writiers do it), but even better if you could explain why i.e. Sibilance is used to create a sinister tone, making the reader feel uneasy and on edge.blah blah blah edit: still an amazing video - its just that some students (including me) have no idea why language devices are used

Excellent educational video! I've shared its link on a somewhat related post on my edublogs but it'd be wonderful if I could share the video itself on them. Would you mind my doing it?

Can anyone tell me how many poetic devices are there cuz when i open a video every teacher teach different devices
@EnglishWithWatson

It can be a bit confusing when different teachers present poetic devices in various ways. In essence, there are many poetic devices you can explore and it mostly depends on how advanced you want to go, so it's difficult to put an exact number on it. Some common ones include simile, metaphor, personification, alliteration, assonance, and the others in this video. Ultimately, the best thing to do is learn several of these more common ones so you can identify them confidently and discuss their effect.
