Roger Noble's video, in two parts, takes you through how to get started in designing your own PCBs. This can save space, make construction and maintenance much easier and be very cost effective. A basic grasp of electronics is required, but only very little, and the PCB design is remarkably straightforward. This demo uses the “Fritzing” open source software, available for most platforms, Windows, MAC and Linux, and is available ready to go for a nominal fee. The principles though are true for any PCB design software and the parts covering production of boards is applicable to all.
In Part 2 some more complex features are explored as well as the practical steps in getting boards manufactured very cost effectively.
