I actually suggest giving AirB&B a look during interrailing cause its similar in price or cheaper (Sometimes) Benefits: Kitchen to cook meals, usually cheaper than eating out Peace of mind and privacy, and if you want to socialise you can still do hostels every other city.

Great tips! I went traveling with a Global Pass for 3 months in 2019, and will be back doing it again September 2022 Another tip I would suggest is buy the transit passes that give you days for metro, trams etc Can’t use cash on trams etc Also trams are a great way to see a city you cannot get lost, hop on and off. If you take picture of tram number you will be certain to get the same one

Buying an Interrail ticket will hardly ever make sense financially, but you have more flexibility. If you buy single tickets in advance it will always cost less. That is especially true if you travel a lot in Eastern Europe. Even if you buy tickets up front it will usually be cheaper than using an Interrail ticket. If you buy a two month global pass and travel every day, then it will be cheaper, but 60 days of sitting on a train every day is too much, you also want to stay in the same place for a few days.

It's basically a pass for travelling around europe by train. You pay for the pass so you don't have to buy all the tickets. However, some trains require seat reservations. Those additional costs are not covered by interrail. You have different ticket options to choose from, the most expensive option is a global ticket. This allows you to travel anywhere, whenever you want. You can also go for a cheaper option with limited travel days. So for example you buy a travel ticket for a month, in which you can travel by train for up to 7 days. Hope this helps!🙌

Some staff members know interrail and don't make trouble, but some don't know it and make trouble :/ is that a common thing, that the Codes don't scan in the UK or is something wrong with mine?

@isaacsearle2523

With a continuous global pass you can take as many as you want (remember seat reservations for high speed trains), he was talking about the other type of passes which offer (for example) 4 days out of 7 days where you can only use it for taking trains on 4 days out of a continuous 7 day period and can instead choose which days to take trains (so it costs less). So in your case you don’t need to worry about this rule
@Tom-fk5ig

I don't get it they say you need to make reservations a week before your train but what if you don't know what train it is you'll be getting until the day of or the day before you travel? How are you meant to make a reservation for this as surely then it will be too late? Also does making a reservation just guarantee you a seat on a train? For example if I didn't make a reservation and no seats were available then I'd still be able to get on the train right? I just wouldn't have a seat and would be stuck on the floor?
@Joelfriend
3 жыл бұрын
Some trains can get very busy, but normally there are still spaces, we ended up sitting in the aisle for a couple journeys as we didn’t book. I recommend booking for overnight trains and even paying the extra to get a bed as the standard seats won’t give you a good night sleep

Hey, just a little question : I didn’t really understood the overnight train rule. Like every time I take an overnight train it counts as a day ? Let’s say I travel for 10 days, with one overnight train per night, and one train per day (I know it’s not really realistic, it’s just for the exemple lol) so it would count as 20 days of travel ?
@jeanneletourneau6490
2 жыл бұрын
Hi ! The rule for the night train is that as long as you go in before midnight, it count as the same day. So for example you can do Milano-Florence from 10am to 12am and then Florence-Roma from 11pm to 3am and all that count as one day of travel
