A short relaxing montage showing aerial views of some of the castles I was able to capture from a recent trip to the Scottish Highlands 🏰
Castle Stalker
Situated on its own island in Loch Laich this 17th century keep is surrounded by low lying hills and made for some very photogenic footage, especially as I managed to catch a lovely sunset at the time of my visit
Innes Chonnel Castle
Not much left of these ruins located on their own island within Loch Awe as they are very isolated from the mainland and are no longer accessible except by boat (or drone) 🚁
Dunnolie Castle
These ruins are situated on a formidable hill overlooking the bay of Oban aka gateway to the isles for its many shipping routes that fan out.
Finlarig Castle
Again some very dilapidated remains of another 17th century castle, but the only one of this set where you could mooch about, touch and 'feel' some of the history that it must have seen. There is also a small ruined chapel/mausoleum within its grounds as well as two graves of one of the Lairds and his Lady associated with the land from more recent times.
