OK....MASSIVE PROPS for the name drops of Satriani and Vai. Respect for your channel and staff increased tenfold as you all clearly have fine, discriminating taste in music.

I can't stand horror movies but this brief history of them makes me respect them. Well done all!

Good job, I love horror movie history! Please do a follow up and maybe include the “character was a ghost” or “it was all in their head” tropes

Jump scares are not horror, it is only startling. The only time I ever felt horror and revulsion was from a scene in Don’t Look Now. I actually got goosebumps when I saw this. The film did a good job of building up expectations and then smashing them. True, one might consider this a modified jump scare, but that was only in support if the true horror.

Technically, even the Blair Witch Project did the final girl trope.

The trend of putting people in the vulnerable state of nudity is good. We shouldn’t be so uncomfortable with not having clothes on.

On the other hand, even though she's portrayed as more "buttoned-up," Jess in Black Christmas is pregnant, which means she definitely had sex before, although she's definitely assumed to be more monogamous than Barb. I would even argue that the film is pretty progressive for the time, because it's sympathetic to Jess considering getting an abortion because she doesn't feel she can rely on her emotionally volatile boyfriend, who throws up many red flags. In fact, because the film predates slasher movie tropes, the movie misdirects into thinking that Jess's boyfriend may be the killer, as opposed to the random crazy person it turned out to be.

What was the Jason playing a Trombone clip?!
@FiercelyGold

That's not Jason. That's "The Town That Dreaded Sundown" (1976) It's inspired by a true story and got a sequel/remake in 2014. They're not great movies but they do have both have the trombone stabbing scene, so there's that
Is it bad I play dbd trying to copy the finally girl trope?
