Hi, It's time to get honest. The majority of my plants are growing beautifully, but every once in a while, one just isn't doing well. Even though I'm a gardener with over 50 years of experience, I sometimes have a fail. If you 're new to houseplant gardening, I hope this makes you feel good. Just keep on trying! Enjoy, Nell💖

You are such a joy! You brightened my evening with your authenticity and sharing your plant perspectives (plant care is all about experimentation) and history. I wish you luck with your philo and I love it's fuschia stems! Thank you for keeping it real ❤

Well, thank you! I debated posting this video, but I wanted to be honest & perhaps help beginning gardeners out. Even we experienced plant people struggle with plants every now & then! Nell xo

I have found in my plant growing life that there are some plants that i cant grow. So, i dont. I dont want to waste money or time on a futile effort. But there are lots of plants that i can grow! I have about 60 indoor plants which are bunched around my windows and i love them. They bring me joy just to see them. Growing plants is a wonderful hobby.

Hi - I agree totally! Some plants are tricky to grow indoors, are an expense, & then you feel bad when they go. And yes, plants are a wonderful hobby! Nell

Hey there neighbor! I live in Tucson Az myself as well! 😊🌵☀️ Just wanted to say I’m 30 and I’ll be 31 here in a few months and i honestly can’t wait to get even older. I love your personality and the way you just have fun! Thanks for all the helpful knowledge on how to help my plants grow stronger and healthier. It’s been so fun to learn and see the hard work payoff! And also that’s okay if I just can’t save them all! 😭 haha Hope you have a wonderful Easter!

Thank you for keeping it "real" and I love Tazzy popping in. I'm not familiar with that philodendron but loved watching you propagate it. I always learn something on your videos. I, too, live in a dry climate and am currently trying to convince myself that my Maiden Hair Fern is happy. We'll see, lol 😂😂😂

Hi - I was keeping it real in this one! Tazzy's a sweetheart but definitely a pest when I'm trying to film. I love Maidenhair Ferns, but good luck with that! Nell

I live in the Mojave desert and have a Prince of Orange, but it's not that big yet. I have a humidifier on for most of the day for the plants, and for the family! Our air is soooo dry! Love your videos! ❤

Hi - You're a fellow desert dweller, so you understand. Many philodendrons get leggy over time, & this is my 1st time growing this one. It looked good up until a year or so ago. I run my humidifiers, too, at night. We'll keep trying! Nell

Mine is about the same size as yours. Before you said anything, I was guessing they both must be similar in age; mine is maybe 6 years. What's really interesting, is the very stark difference in peteole sizes. Mine are much shorter with larger leaves, and generally less leggy; yours must have adapted to conserve more water. I live in the NE where there's less consistent light, but probably more humidity. I would suggest you put a clear plastic or glass bowl over your potted cutting, to prevent excessive drying while it pushes out new growth. I have been debating over cutting mine for a couple years so please let us know how yours does!

Hi - Thank you for sharing! That is interesting. I'm originally from New England, where the light is way less intense. The 2 cuttings are in water & looking fine, but no roots are appearing out of those fat stems yet. I'll keep you informed, probably in a Short. Nell

Nell, what is the best way to remove yard debris like twigs and leaves from cactus spines to improve its appearance?
