Hello Beaders + Crafters!
In this video, you will learn how to make a delicate, lariat inspired necklace using a wire-wrapping coil technique.
Supplies + Tools Needed:
* Several 2" Long Pieces of 26ga Half-Hard Wire (or a gauge that will fit through your beads. Sometimes using smaller semiprecious you may need to work in 28ga wire. I cut 17 pieces for the design in this video and used 26ga with the stones I had)
* 2mm - 3mm Beads (I'm using 51, 2mm turquoise beads for the design in this video)
* At least 22" of Delicate Chain (You want the chain long enough that once you add on the beads, you can easily pull it over your head without a clasp)
* 1 Closed Hoop (I’m using an 8mm closed ring in this video)
* 1 Charm/Pendant (to hang at the bottom. I'm using a gold plated pewter drop)
* Round Nose Pliers
* Chain Nose Pliers
* Flush Cutters
* Beading Mat
* Ruler (Optional)
Some of these supplies can be found on our website at www.fireflycarrboro.com
In this video I have 5 links on each side of the chain down to the top of the ring. Then from the bottom of the ring, I have 7 links going to the charm/pendant. Each wire-link has 3 beads on it. But the beauty of this is that you can create this however you'd like!! Have fun with it!
Enjoy and Happy Beading!
