Ingredients
Small Onion-30 to 40
Toor Dal/Sambar Parippu-1/2 cup
Turmeric powder-1/2 tspn
Kayam/Hing-a small piece or 1/2 tspn
Water-around 2 and 1/2 cups
Salt
Tamarind-a goseberry sized ball
Oil
Fenugreek seeds-1/2 tspn
Green chilli-2
Curry leaves
Turmeric powder-1/4 tspn
Kashmiri chilli powder-2 tspn
Coriander powder-4 tspn
Water-as needed(I added 2 cups but adjust according to the consistency of cooked dal)
Kayam-a small piece
For tempering
Oil
Mustard seeds-1/2 tspn
Cumin seeds-a pinch
Turmeric powder-1/4 tspn
Kasmiri chilli powder-1/2 tspn
Curry leaves
