i carried one of these for years as a back up after being told by several police officers they were 100% reliable, fired it tons of times and let numerous people (women mostly) also shoot it. it never once jammed or misfired. A friend of mine carried a Kel-Tec P11 for years.... it's essentially the older brother of the P3AT, a little larger and in 9mm. One day, he was shooting, there was a flash, and the gun seized up. He took it to a gunsmith to see if it could be fixed. The gunsmith looked at it and asked "When was the last time you cleaned this gun?" My friend replied "You have to clean it?" After over ten years of use, and thousands of rounds without a single hiccup, and absolutely no cleaning, it finally had a failure. The flash was all the unburned powder residue all over the gun igniting. The gunsmith managed to free the gun up and trained my friend how to clean it. Charged him $10.

I'm old enough (74) to remember when these came out. They were touted as the perfect deep concealment gun. They were never i tended to be range toys or plinkers. They were intended to be defensive hand guns used up close and very personal probably at contact distance and that looong double action trigger pull was considered a safety feature, as you were less likely to accidentally shoot yourself as you pulled it out of your pocket. Or as one lady cop I heard about who wore it on a chain and let it hang between her...attributes.

I bought a Kel-Tec P3AT.380 when they first came out in 2003. It has the internal extractor and is a silver over black version. They were scarce as hen's teeth because law enforcement officers were snatching them as soon as they saw one. I qualified with mine each year as a backup and had no problems. I carried it until the last year when I decided to buy a LCP Max because of the capacity. The only con that I can talk about on the Kel-Tec is the little U-shsped piece that comes out of the slide rail, sometimes it falls off during disassembly and assembly. I think that they are great little pistols and super light which makes them a great carry everywhere. 😁👍

I carried a Kel-Tec P-11 for years (until it was stolen) as my primary EDC via an ankle holster. It was always reliable and light--and I loved the DAO trigger which means if one got a misfire, all one had to do was pull the trigger again, but I never had a misfire with it or with any of my handguns. I just wish Kel-Tec would make the P-11 again--and make it California eligible. Love your videos--you do a fine job!

Adam, I bought a Kel-tec P11 at a gun show many years ago. It's a double stack 9mm pocket pistol not much bigger that your .380, ( which is what I was looking for). So this came with two 10 round magazines and 2, 12 rounders. In the box, was the screws and the pocket clip. Owner's manual and all other goodies were in the box. There is no safety. That long trigger pull is your safety..I would say it's about 12 pounds till it finally breaks. Kicks like a mule because it is so light. I installed that clip and after many trips to the "range" I started carrying it. 4 years ago I went to another gun show. And there on a table was another P11. Three extra 10 round mags. No pocket clip but it had the replacement spring set and metal guide rod. I bought it. Works great. Still haven't found that P3AT one day.. have fun stay safe.

I still carry mine ever single day. I bought it used 8 years ago and put a new grip-frame on it from the Kel-tec parts site. Amazing accuracy and very reliable. The finish is almost completely worn off of mine now and I have to remember to clean the pocket lint out of it regularly. I use a kydex trigger cover so nothing catches when I pocket carry. When I can tote something a little bigger for my edc, I strap the P3AT to my ankle as a backup and almost forget about it. The plastic magazine release will wear out with regular use so I keep a couple spares in the box it came in. I tried the aluminum one for a while but the mags kept slipping by it and I want back to the factory composite one.

The negatives you said on this gun is a positive to me. The long trigger pull is the safety. This is not a target pistol. This is a point and pull the trigger gun on who or whatever is trying to hurt you. My Keltec 3AT has been totally reliable. I have had mine for at least 10 years. The gun is flat small and has never failed me. great for pocket carry. I put Underwood HP's that are very hot for my carry ammo. I put a Hogue rubber sleeve on mine to make handle a little bigger.

I’ve heard good things about it, it also looks just like the P32 which is the .32 ACP model and it’s also pretty highly praised by a lot of people. I like the idea of a P 32 with newer ammunition. The small 380s are a bit snappy but then again it’s for carry not arrange or sport pistol. The thing I like about the P3 two is you can use some of the new Underwood penetrator stuff and it’s still a semi reasonable carry option but it’s really small that looks just like that but it’s tiny. Have a shield and I’ve got an LCPII And both of them stick out of my pocket just a little bit the shield is too much to try, but the P3 two is tiny. Very lightweight and won’t leave the bottom of your mag sticking out of your pocket so it’s a small round but it’s a lot more convenient. with a penetrator around its ballistic gel testing are not amazing but OK and it’s super tiny and super light. I’m keeping my eye out for one day are an older model as well and not always available, but sometimes I don’t even wanna carry the LCPIi because it’s just a little too big and it’s a pain. lol.
