I was in the Army in 1962. I am so very thankful that I didn't get killed in this senseless war. I am so very proud of Jane Fonda for standing up for the end of our atrocities. Jane Fonda and I are age peers. There were no rights for women in the military who were raped repeatedly. Jane is an American hero. She stood up while others cowered.

Thank you for showing me Jane's story. Thank you Jane. My Green Beret daddy came home after 2 tours in Vietnam because of activist like you. Before he died he made sure I knew that the Vietnam war was not worth the first American life. He went because his troops were there, he didn't want them to go alone. Thank you, you are a national treasure.

Especially applaud her strong anti-Vietnam War activism which definitely helped to end the war by exposing American war crimes like bombing Vietnamese civilians. We're lucky she's still going strong!

typheran1 If somebody in Nazi Germany had visited a concentration camp in Poland, with the intention of getting the message to the German people of the horrors being commited by the order of their leaders, they would have been guilty of commiting treason against the third reich..... But would you condemn them for doing so? I'm not comparing America to Nazi Germany, you're the one who brought them into the discussion. My point is that an act of 'betrayal' against a government, is not necessarily the same as an act of treason against your country or it's people. It can be quite the opposite. If it were not, you would still 'possibly' be under British rule.

"The United States most likely has been responsible since WWII for the deaths of between 20 and 30 million innocent people (known in the USA as collateral damage) in wars and conflicts scattered over the world. To the families and friends of these victims it makes little difference whether the causes were U.S. military action, proxy military forces, the provision of U.S. military supplies or advisors, or other ways, such as economic pressures applied by our nation. They had to make decisions about other things such as finding lost loved ones, whether to become refugees, and how to survive. And the pain and anger is spread even further. Some authorities estimate that there are as many as 10 wounded for each person who dies in wars. Their visible, continued suffering is a continuing reminder to their fellow countrymen. It is essential that Americans learn more about this topic so that they can begin to understand the pain that others feel. Someone once observed that the Germans during WWII "chose not to know." We cannot allow history to say this about our country. The question posed above was "How many September 11ths has the United States caused in other nations since WWII?" The answer is: possibly 10,000. "
