Around two centuries ago, Britain's towns and cities introduced a policy of recycling, that of re-using artillery pieces. Particularly in sea ports, you could see redundant cannon's vertically placed into the ground and used as a simple bollard. Today, London, along with other towns still boasts a few, but their numbers are dwindling. Join me as I take to the Capital's streets to look at a handful and attempt to glean what I can from these often ignored items of history.
