Her work is tremendously spiritual in pagan way. The energy and vibrancy of those colors are overwhelming to me. I am so happy that MoMA is celebrating her work. She deserves her place on those walls. Great video!

Such a worthwhile endeavor, fabulous job. I enjoyed the movie about Seraphine but have never seen her work in person. Excited to see this collection.

If you have Amazon Prime you can watch the 2008 feature film about her. "Seraphine" is a beautifully done testament to her life and art.

That painting is just so beautiful. And the history! It's truly a masterpiece by a woman who obviously had great talent. Thank you for showing us this painting. I'm definitely going to look her up to see other works. My only objection throughout was the presenter's vocal fry~ Quote: "Vocal fry, or glottalization, is a low, staccato vibration during speech, produced by a slow fluttering of the vocal cords." "It's that guttural growl, as a Valley girl might sound if she'd been shouting herself hoarse at a rave all night." End quotes I'm not trying to be mean spirited here, but when I, and a LOT of other people, hear that growling step down at the end of every sentence I honestly think of the speaker as immature and not necessarily unintelligent, but lacking in vocabulary and speaking skills! That valley girl/vocal fry speak is forever etched in our brains by the Kardashians. It's a learned thing and can be unlearned. Please, please relearn to speak w/out that horrible guttural ending to every sentence. It's easily fixed by being aware that you're doing it and making an effort to change. Practice in front of a mirror. Otherwise this was perfect and the presenter's explanation was really informative. Picturing Séraphine on the floor painting, seeing her mixing paint with other substances, working under candlelight ~ the visuals I got from the presentation were powerful. Thank you so much for introducing us to this artist!

Her own language among the people. But the language is it natural it self. That how nature born. She can see it, chemicals in her brain is different. She can see angels, near god than everyone else

I love the art! I just didn’t like the quip about it not being treated. It didn’t have to be a gender issue.
